Yato cordless rotary hammer 2.8 J 4 Ah (YT-827725) is an SDS-plus rotary hammer with a brushless motor, supplied with an 18 V 4 Ah Li-Ion battery and a charger. The single impact energy is 2.8 J, a speed of 0–950 min⁻¹ and the impact rate 0–4700 min⁻¹. The rotary hammer drills up to 26 mm in concrete, 30 mm in wood and 13 mm in steel.
The rotary hammer has three operating modes: drilling without impact, hammer drilling and chiselling. The mode is selected with the rotary selector on the body by pressing the selector lock. The fourth position of the selector turns the chisel to the required angle before chiselling, so the chisel does not have to be removed from the chuck.
The speed is preselected with the adjustment knob on a scale of 1–6, and the trigger increases the speed steplessly up to the maximum of the selected setting. Charging: The battery is supplied uncharged. Slide the battery into the charger and plug the charger into a socket; the indicator light shows the charging status. Charging the 4 Ah battery takes about 2 hours.
Fitting the bit: Remove the battery. Clean the bit shank and lubricate it with a thin layer of general-purpose grease. Pull the chuck sleeve back, push the bit into the chuck and turn it until it locks. Release the sleeve and pull to check that the bit is locked.
Operating mode and speed: Press the selector lock and turn the selector to the drill bit symbol (drilling), the drill bit and hammer symbol (hammer drilling) or the hammer symbol (chiselling). The chisel angle is set with the hammer and arrow symbol by pressing the trigger until the chisel is in the required position. Select the speed with the adjustment knob 1–6.
Drilling: First check that there are no hidden electrical cables, gas or water pipes at the drilling point. Select the direction of rotation only when the machine has stopped. When drilling large holes, first drill a smaller pilot hole.
