Description
Yato cordless backpack sprayer 18V (YT-86211) is a cordless backpack pressure sprayer with a 10-litre tank and a diaphragm pump. The pump delivers an adjustable flow of up to 1.5 l/min and a spraying range of up to 7 metres without manual pumping. The unit is supplied as a body only, without a battery and charger.
The sprayer is a 2in1 device: it works both as a pressure sprayer and as a water source for tools that need water cooling during use. Battery operation lets you bring water to the job even where there is no mains power or water point.
The power switch has two operating modes: mode I gives a lower output and a longer running time, mode II a higher output and a longer spraying range. In mode I, the continuous running time is over 60 min with a 2 Ah battery, 120 min with a 3 Ah battery and with a 4 Ah battery 180 min. The indicator lights next to the switch show the approximate battery charge level.
The sprayer comes with a metal lance and a plastic lance together with the 4 nozzles: a flat nozzle, a cone nozzle, a double cone nozzle and a 4-jet nozzle. The lance trigger can be locked in the pressed position for long spraying. The removable filter in the filling opening stops impurities before they reach the pump.
The empty sprayer weighs 3.4 kg. The padded shoulder straps have a chest strap and metal fasteners; without the straps, the sprayer is carried by the handle on the lid. The battery is fitted in the covered battery compartment on the side of the tank.
Uses and suitability:
The sprayer is designed for watering and spraying with water and non-toxic plant protection products, and for supplying water to water-cooled tools.
- Orchards and gardens: The 7-metre spraying range reaches the tops of fruit trees; four nozzles allow fine misting, a wide fan or a pinpoint jet.
- Watering and plant care: Watering seedlings, shrubs and vegetable patches and foliar feeding from the 10-litre tank without manual pumping.
- Construction sites: Water supply for tools that need water cooling when mains water or electricity is not available.
- Cleaning: Moistening and rinsing surfaces with clean water.
The unit uses Yato 18 V Li-Ion batteries, for example the Yato 18V Li-Ion battery 2.0 Ah and Yato 18V Li-Ion battery 4.0 Ah, which are charged, for example, with the Yato battery charger 18V 2.4-4.5A smart fast charger. If you need a larger tank and a built-in battery, an alternative is the Yato cordless backpack sprayer 12V 16 l with solar panel.

Yato cordless backpack sprayer 18V user instructions:
Fitting the lance: Remove the battery. Place the nut, clamping sleeve and seal on the end of the lance, push the lance into the handle opening and tighten the nut by hand only enough for the joint to be tight. Attach the nozzle to the other end of the lance in the same way.
Inflation: Remove the battery before filling. Unscrew the cap, check the seal and always fill the tank through the filter in the filling opening. Close the cap and dry any spilled liquid before use.
Connecting the battery: Make sure the power switch is in position O. Open the battery compartment cover, slide the Yato 18 V battery into place until the latch locks, and close the cover.
Starting and spraying: Lift the sprayer onto your back, adjust the shoulder straps and fasten the chest strap. Turn the switch to position I or II, first point the nozzle at a safe place, such as a bucket, and press the trigger. When the spray is even and continuous, start spraying. For long spraying, lock the trigger.
Finishing work: Release the trigger, turn the switch to position O and release the system pressure by pressing the trigger with the nozzle pointing in a safe direction. Take off the sprayer, remove the battery and empty the tank through the filling opening.
Maintenance and storage: Rinse the tank with clean water and run the pump for about a minute if anything other than water was sprayed. Clean the filter with lukewarm water, let the parts dry and store the sprayer without the battery at 0–40 °C. A clogged nozzle is cleared with a needle thinner than the nozzle opening or replaced.
Warnings:
- Read the user manual before use. Wear protective clothing, protective gloves, safety glasses and a respirator.
- Keep a distance of at least 15 m from bystanders. Do not point the nozzle at people or animals, and do not spray into the wind.
- Water and non-toxic plant protection products only: no corrosive, alkaline or flammable substances or substances of unknown composition. Follow the instructions of the manufacturer of the sprayed substance.
- Do not start the pump with an empty tank and do not turn the sprayer upside down, as this damages the pump.
- Use only Yato 18 V Li-Ion batteries approved by the manufacturer. Remove the battery before filling, maintenance and storage.
- Do not clean the unit with petrol or other flammable liquids, as there is a risk of explosion.
- Carry with both shoulder straps, not crosswise. Start the pump only when the sprayer is on your back.
- Not for use by children. Do not eat, drink or smoke in the work area.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
How long does the Yato cordless backpack sprayer 18V run on one battery? In mode I, the continuous running time is over 60 min with a 2 Ah battery, 120 min with a 3 Ah battery and 180 min with a 4 Ah battery. Mode II shortens the running time because the output and spraying range increase.

What does 2in1 mean? The sprayer can be used as a pressure sprayer for watering and spraying and as a water source for tools that need water cooling.
Which substances may be applied with the sprayer? Water and non-toxic plant protection products. Corrosive, alkaline and flammable substances and substances of unknown composition are prohibited.
How far does the sprayer reach? The maximum spraying range is 7 m, which is enough for spraying fruit trees from the ground.
Which nozzles are included? Four: a flat nozzle, a cone nozzle, a double cone nozzle and a 4-jet nozzle, plus a metal and a plastic lance.
Recycling instructions:
Recycle the cardboard packaging in cardboard collection. The Yato cordless backpack sprayer 18V is an electrical appliance: take the sprayer to a WEEE collection point at the end of its life, not to mixed waste. Remove the Li-Ion battery before recycling and take it to battery collection or to the retailer; tape the battery terminals before transport. Rinse the tank and dispose of plant protection product residues according to the product manufacturer’s instructions.
