Description
The Yato anti-slip tape 50MM x 10M is a roughened tape based on polyvinyl chloride, i.e. PVC, designed to improve mechanical grip, with a width of 50 mm and a length of 10 m. The tape forms a strong friction layer on the mounting surface that effectively eliminates the risk of slipping in industrial environments and on walkways in properties. It is installed using the acrylic adhesive layer integrated into the base of the product, which reacts immediately with a clean, smooth surface without separate fixing agents.
The top surface of the tape is coated with a coarse mineral-based abrasive, which keeps footing secure even under liquids or dirt. The wear-resistant profile, about 0.75 mm thick, is designed to sit low against the surface, which helps prevent the edges of the tape tearing when hit by the toe of a shoe or heavier mechanical wear. The product suits demanding operating conditions thanks to its installed temperature tolerance of -10 °C … +70 °C in use.
Because the material is flexible, water-repellent PVC, the tape does not become brittle in normal air humidity or under splashes. The viscosity of the adhesive is optimised to give long-term adhesion to metal, concrete, stone and varnished or dense wood, provided that the surface is free of grease and dry at the time of installation.
From an industrial point of view, using this tape helps standardise the friction requirements that maintain occupational safety at workstations and crossing areas. The black colour blends discreetly into the structures of properties, and the 10 metre roll size offers optimal coverage for lining several stair treads or long work platforms in one go without extra joints.
Intended use and suitability:
This anti-slip tape is designed for installation in environments where safety depends directly on the friction properties of the floor surface. The main application areas and their technical requirements are defined below.
- Industrial production facilities and logistics centres: Fixed to the edges of forklift aisles, packing room floors and crossing points. The coarse abrasive surface cuts through light dust, guaranteeing workers safe braking and acceleration grip when moving in work shoes.
- Stairs, ramps and platforms: Installed on the treads of steel, wooden and stone stairs to prevent the foot slipping. The 50 mm width of the tape is a standard size for industrial steps, covering the most effective friction area under the sole of the shoe.
- Outdoor entrances and ramps: Thanks to the water-repellent PVC body, the product withstands outdoor use and temperature variations when it is installed on a clean surface within the recommended installation temperatures. Improves the grip of wheelchair ramps and loading ramps.
Package contents:
The product delivery as packed at the factory:
- Anti-slip tape: 1 x 10 metre roll of black, 50 mm wide self-adhesive roughened tape.
Features:
- High-friction surface structure: The mineral-based roughening maintains slip resistance on dry and damp surfaces.
- Water-resistant PVC body: The backing layer made of polyvinyl chloride repels moisture without structural breakdown.
- Strong acrylic adhesive: The adhesive forms a permanent bond with a clean substrate within 24 hours of installation, one that requires mechanical removal.
- Can be cut on site: The thin but dense surface structure lets you cut the tape to precise lengths with a sharp knife or professional scissors.
- Wide operating temperature: Once installed, the tape keeps its adhesive properties and shape even at -10 °C frost and +70 °C heat.

Yato anti-slip tape instructions for use:
Follow this step-by-step process to ensure maximum grip and secure adhesion of the installed product.
1. Surface preparation: Make sure the target surface is completely dry, free of grease and solid. Clean the area with an industrial-grade degreaser (e.g. isopropyl alcohol) and let the solvent evaporate completely.
2. Checking the temperature: Carry out the installation at a temperature of at least +10 °C so that the acrylic adhesive achieves immediate initial tack. In a cold environment, preheat the surface with a hot air gun.
3. Measuring and cutting: Measure the length of tape you need. Cut the tape with a utility knife or heavy scissors. Round off the corners of the piece to be installed; rounded corners spread mechanical stress more evenly and prevent the edge lifting.
4. Aligning and fixing: Peel a few centimetres of protective paper off one end of the tape. Press the exposed adhesive surface precisely into place. Pull the protective paper slowly out from under the tape while pressing the tape evenly against the surface to avoid air bubbles.
5. Finishing: Press the installed tape firmly onto the surface with a hard rubber roller, rolling from the centre towards the edges. Let the adhesive bond settle without mechanical wear or contact with liquids for at least 12 hours.
Warnings:
Ignoring the limit values below during installation or use can weaken the adhesion of the product and shorten its life.
- Installation temperature: At temperatures below +10 °C the molecular structure of the adhesive does not bond optimally to the surface, which considerably increases the risk of the tape coming loose.
- Porous surfaces: When installing on untreated wood or dusty concrete, always treat the surface with a suitable primer before installation.
- Skin contact: The coarse abrasive surface of the tape can scratch bare skin; do not install it in wet rooms or areas where people walk barefoot.
- Chemical exposure: Continuous immersion in strong industrial solvents can destroy the acrylic-based adhesive layer of the tape.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
How soon can the installed tape withstand mechanical load?
Once it has been pressed with a roller, the adhesive immediately achieves enough initial tack for light foot traffic. For heavy industrial mechanical load, however, the adhesive must be allowed to polymerise undisturbed for at least 12–24 hours after installation.
Can the tape be installed on a metal outdoor staircase in winter?
Once installed, the tape itself withstands temperatures down to -10 °C but at the time of installation the temperature of the stair surface and the air must be at least +10 °C. Winter installation is only possible by directing heat at the surface, for example with a hot air gun, and making sure the surface is absolutely dry.
How can the tape be removed without damaging the substrate?
The acrylic adhesive is easiest to remove by warming the tape carefully with a hot air gun, which softens the adhesive layer so that the tape comes off by pulling. Remove the remaining adhesive mechanically by scraping and with an industrial solvent such as isopropyl alcohol.
Recycling instructions:
The parts of this product contain plastics, adhesives and minerals, and they must be disposed of appropriately by material.
- Product: Used or leftover tape must be sorted into mixed waste or industrial energy waste in accordance with local regulations. Because of the PVC construction, abrasives and adhesive, it is not suitable for plastic recycling.
- Packaging material: The cardboard core inside the tape roll goes to cardboard collection. Any clean shrink film protecting the tape goes to plastic collection.
