Description
A high-visibility (black and yellow) anti-slip tape for industrial environments, with installation dimensions of 50 mm (width), 18 m (length) and 0.75 mm (thickness). The tape is designed to improve the mechanical grip of the surface by reducing the risk of slipping in logistics and production facilities.
The construction of the product is based on a flexible PVC body (polyvinyl chloride) with an abrasive friction material integrated into its surface. The mechanical roughening directly increases the coefficient of friction between footwear and the surface. The black and yellow diagonal stripes act as a warning colour in line with industry standards, warning of level differences and danger points.
The fixing is based on a pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive that creates a permanent bond to smooth surfaces such as concrete, asphalt, metal and tile. The acrylic adhesive layer resists water and mild chemical splashes, which maintains the bond strength in industrial environments. The product keeps its grip in the temperature range -10 °C … +70 °C.
The 18 metre length of the tape is enough for continuous marking of large areas such as long staircases and unloading ramps. Installation needs no special tools: the strip is fixed directly to the cleaned surface, which speeds up putting occupational safety standards into practice in construction and factory environments.
Intended use and suitability:
- Stairs and steps: The tape is applied to the outer edge of the stairs, where the 50 mm width is enough to cover the critical contact surface of the footwear and prevent slipping downwards on metal or stone steps.
- Work platforms and ramps: Suitable for fitting to logistics ramps, walkways and machine footboards to improve friction on inclined surfaces, especially in spaces with a risk of moisture.
- Marking hazard areas: The black and yellow warning pattern visually marks forklift route crossings, thresholds and low doorways, combining safety marking and slip resistance in the same component.
Package contents:
- 1 pc: Anti-slip tape roll, black and yellow (50 mm x 18 m).
Features:
- Friction surface: The abrasive PVC construction prevents slips by increasing the mechanical grip of footwear.
- Warning colouring: The black and yellow diagonal stripes meet common standards for warning markings.
- Adhesive layer: The strong acrylic adhesive ensures permanent adhesion of the tape on smooth surfaces even in damp conditions.
- Weather resistance: The product is suitable for -10 °C … +70 °C temperatures, allowing both indoor and outdoor installation.

Yato anti-slip tape instructions for use:
Step 1: Clean the mounting surface carefully of dust, dirt, oil and moisture with isopropanol or another degreasing cleaner. Make sure the surface is completely dry.
Step 2: Measure the length of tape you need and cut the tape in a straight line with scissors or a snap-off knife. Avoid touching the adhesive side of the tape with your fingers.
Step 3: Peel the protective paper off one end of the tape for about 10 cm and align the tape on the surface.
Step 4: Press the tape onto the surface and work forward slowly, pulling the protective paper off from under the tape. Use a hard rubber roller or a heavy presser to remove air bubbles and activate the adhesive.
Step 5: Let the acrylic adhesive cure to its full bond strength for at least 24 hours before exposing the area to heavy wear or water.
Warnings:
- Adhesion hazard: The tape does not adhere durably to porous, crumbling or dusty surfaces (e.g. untreated wood or concrete) without a separate primer.
- Mechanical hazard: The rough surface of the product is abrasive; bare skin contact under heavy abrasion can cause skin or tissue damage.
- Temperature limit: Do not exceed the +70 °C operating temperature, because melting of the adhesive may detach the tape from the surface and cause a slipping risk.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
Question: Can the Yato 50 mm x 18 m anti-slip tape be installed outdoors directly in freezing temperatures?
Answer: Although the tape tolerates use at -10 °C in use, the installation itself must always be done above freezing, at a temperature of at least +10 °C so that the acrylic adhesive achieves optimal contact and adhesion to the surface.
Question: Does the product withstand forklift traffic in an industrial warehouse?
Answer: The tape is designed primarily for pedestrian traffic. Continuous, heavy driving over it with industrial forklifts wears down the PVC roughening mechanically much faster than the expected life.
Question: How is the tape removed from a concrete or metal surface without leaving marks?
Answer: Remove the tape by first warming it with a hot air gun, which softens the acrylic adhesive. Any adhesive residue left on the surface can be dissolved with a citrus-based industrial cleaner or isopropanol.
Recycling instructions:
Used tape consists of PVC plastic, abrasive particles and acrylic adhesive. It must be sorted as industrial or mixed waste according to local waste management instructions. The cardboard core inside the tape goes to cardboard collection and the outer packaging plastic to plastic collection.
