Description
Yato silicone removal set 3-in-1 is a six-piece joint tool set for removing an old silicone or acrylic joint, shaping new sealant and scraping off the excess. The body of the tool is ABS plastic, the removal blade is SK5 steel and five interchangeable smoothing rubbers are included, with radii of 3R, 6R, 10R, 13R and 17R.
The tool has three functions in one body: one end has a steel tip for removing the old joint, the chosen smoothing rubber is attached to the other end for shaping the new joint, and the flat spatula of the body scrapes sealant residue off flat surfaces.
The different radii of the smoothing rubbers match different joint widths: the small 3R rubber makes a narrow joint, for example between a tile and a trim, and the 17R rubber a wide joint, for example where a bath meets the wall. Changing is tool-free: press the rubber into the holder on the body.
The Yato silicone removal set 3-in-1 replaces a separate silicone remover, joint spatula and scraper with one light tool.
Intended use and suitability:
The Yato silicone removal set 3-in-1 is intended for renewing joints in wet rooms, kitchens and windows. It complements the Yato joint smoothing set 4-piece product and the Procat silicone remover plastic tool; for applying sealant, a suitable choice is for example the Yato caulking gun 600 ml.
- Bathrooms and saunas: Renewing the silicone joints of baths, shower trays, floor drains and wall tiles. The SK5 steel tip removes hardened and mouldy silicone, and the 10R–17R rubbers shape wide corner joints.
- Kitchens: Joints between the worktop and splashback, and sink edges. The narrow 3R and 6R rubbers suit thin acrylic and silicone joints.
- Windows, doors and trims: Removing and renewing the sealing joints of frames and trims. The flat spatula removes sealant residue from glass, painted surfaces and tiles without scratching.
- Tiling and filling: Removing old grout from a tile joint before regrouting and scraping adhesive residue off flat surfaces.

Yato silicone removal set 3-in-1 instructions for use:
1. Removing the old joint: Draw the SK5 steel tip along both edges of the joint, in the direction of the joint, so that the sealant comes away from the surface. Lift off the loosened sealant and scrape off the residue with the flat spatula of the body. Clean and dry the joint before applying new sealant.
2. Applying new sealant: Squeeze silicone or acrylic into the joint with a caulking gun as an even bead.
3. Shaping the joint: Choose the smoothing rubber that matches the joint width (3R narrow … 17R wide) and press it into the holder on the body. Draw the rubber over the joint with even pressure in one continuous stroke, so that the excess sealant stays at the edge of the rubber. Wipe the rubber before the next stroke.
4. Scraping off residue: Remove sealant left on flat surfaces with the flat spatula before the sealant hardens.
Maintenance: Clean the steel tip and the rubbers immediately after use; hardened silicone comes off the rubber when you bend it. Adjust the length of the body at the lock.
Warnings:
- The SK5 steel tip is sharp: keep your fingers out of the path of the blade and store the tool out of the reach of children.
- Wear protective gloves and ensure ventilation when working with sealants.
- The steel tip can scratch acrylic baths, painted surfaces and soft plastics; scrape residue off with the flat spatula.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
What do the radii 3R–17R of the Yato silicone removal set 3-in-1 mean?
The number is the radius of the smoothing rubber’s shaping profile in millimetres: 3R makes a narrow rounded joint, 17R a wide one.
Is the tool suitable for acrylic joints and grout?
Yes. According to the manufacturer, the steel tip removes silicone, acrylic and grout, and the smoothing rubbers shape silicone and acrylic sealants.
Can the smoothing rubbers be bought separately?
The set is supplied with five rubbers; separate spare rubbers are not listed in the manufacturer’s information.
Recycling instructions:
Sort the Yato silicone removal set 3-in-1 at the end of its life: the ABS body and smoothing rubbers go to mixed waste or plastic collection according to local instructions, and the SK5 steel tip, once removed, to metal collection. Sort the cardboard and plastic of the packaging separately.
