The BeaverCraft sauna ladle carving knife set is a complete starter kit that lets you make a traditional Finnish sauna ladle from scratch. Carving knife set instructions for use
Start by protecting your fingers with the supplied tape. First carve the outer shape of the ladle with the C4 knife, then move on to hollowing the inside with the G7L/22 gouge. When the shape is ready, sand the surface first with the coarser and finally with the finer sandpapers. If necessary, polish the blades on the leather strop. Ennen kuin aloitat – turvallisuus ensin

Älä testaa teriä sormin – käytä puuta!

Pidä terät teroitettuina ja käytä sormisuojateippiä tai veistohanskoja.

Veistä aina poispäin kehostasi ja pidä sormet pois terän linjalta.

Jos työkalu putoaa, älä yritä ottaa kiinni.

Veistä rauhassa, älä kiirehdi. Pienet ja hallitut liikkeet ovat avain onnistumiseen.
Veiston vaiheet:
1. Valmistelut
Ota kaikki sarjan osat esiin. Mallipohja, työkalut, hiomapaperit ja öljy löytyvät pakkauksesta.
2. Mallipohjan kiinnitys
Leikkaa mallipohja ja liimaa se aihioon PVA-liimalla. Anna kuivua noin tunnin.
3. Ääriviivojen piirtäminen
Kun liima on kuivunut, piirrä ääriviivat puuhun ja varjosta poistettavat alueet.
4. Käytä sormisuojaa
Kiedo suojateippiä peukalon, etu- ja keskisormen ympärille molemmissa käsissä.
5. Kauhan kupin koverrus
Käytä kaarevaa talttaa. Aloita keskeltä ja etene ulospäin molemmilta puolilta.
6. Syvyyden ja seinämien muotoilu
Muotoile pienempi soikio sisäpuolelle. Pidä seinämät noin 6 mm paksuina ja kupin syvyys noin 1 cm.
7–9. Kahvan muotoilu
Aloita veistämällä ylimääräinen puu pois stop-cut-tekniikalla. Pyöristä kahvaa ja veistä myös alapinta mallipohjan kaaren mukaisesti.
10–12. Kahvan viimeistely
Poista ylimääräinen puu, muotoile kahva ja tasoita yleismuoto kevyillä leikkauksilla.
13. Teroita tarvittaessa
Jos veitsen terä tylsyy, käytä mukana tulevaa nahkastroppia ja kiillotustahnaa.
14–18. Koukun veisto kahvan päähän
Muotoile koukku pienin leikkauksin. Työskentele huolellisesti – koukku on herkkä murtumaan.
19–22. Lopullinen muotoilu
Pyöristä koukun ja kahvan ulkoreunat, muotoile lusikan takaosa ja varmista saumaton siirtymä kahvasta kauhaan.
23–26. Viimeistely ennen hiontaa
Poista kynäviivat ja mallikuvat. Siisti veistopinnat ja pehmennä yksityiskohdat.
27–28. Hionta
Aloita P80-paperilla ja viimeistele P120:lla, kunnes pinta on sileä ja tasainen.
29. Öljyäminen
Levitä pellavaöljyä koko pinnalle. Hiero öljy liinalla ja anna kuivua useita tunteja tai yön yli.
30. Valmista tuli!
Käsintehty puinen löylykauha on valmis käytettäväksi saunassa. Nauti työsi tuloksista!
