Description
The Idealgas LPG burner 50 mm is a high-quality Italian tool designed for demanding heating and welding applications. The device is made to the strict EN ISO 9021 standard, which guarantees the safety and reliability of the product in professional use. Every Idealgas heating and welding blowtorch is individually tested to ensure excellent performance. This model has a powerful 50 mm burner head and reaches an output of up to 53 kW at a nominal pressure of 3 bar.
An ergonomic trigger adds comfort and precision, allowing fast adjustment of the flame output during work. The user sets the base flame level with the flame selector tap and uses the trigger to get full power momentarily. Releasing the trigger returns the flame immediately to the set minimum level, which saves gas and improves safety.
Intended use:
This powerful LPG burner is a versatile tool suitable for many different uses in industry, construction and demanding hobby use.
- Heating and thawing: The high 53 kW output and the wide 50 mm flame make the burner ideal for fast heating of large surfaces, melting ice and snow, welding bitumen membranes (roofing) and preheating materials before welding.
- Welding and brazing: The burner is suitable for brazing and welding where high temperatures are needed.
- Drying and burning: The device can be used for efficient paint removal (heat stripping), drying concrete surfaces, burning weeds (with care) and other tasks that need targeted, intense heat.
Package contents:
- 1 pcs Idealgas LPG burner with 50 mm burner head and trigger.
Note: The gas hose and pressure regulator are not included and must be purchased separately.
Features:
- Italian quality: Made from high-quality materials and individually tested to ensure performance and safety.
- Standard compliance: Meets the requirements of the EN ISO 9021 standard.
- Powerful: Delivers up to 53 kW, enough for even the most demanding heating work.
- Trigger function: The ergonomic trigger allows fast, precise control of the flame size between minimum and maximum output during work.
- Versatile fuel: Can be used with both butane and propane gas. For best performance (especially in cold conditions), the manufacturer recommends propane.
Technical specifications:
- Burner diameter: 50 mm
- Output: 53 kW
- Nominal pressure: 3 bar
- Gas hose connection: Fits an 8 mm gas hose
- Gas: LPG (propane or butane)
- Standard: EN ISO 9021
Instructions for use:
Installation: The device needs a pressure regulator (3 bar) and a gas hose to work. Use an 8 mm rubber gas hose approved under the laws of the country of import. Connect the hose to the burner spigot and secure the connection by tightening it firmly with a suitable hose clamp to prevent gas leaks. Always check that all connections are tight before lighting.
Use: Open the gas cylinder valve. Open the burner’s flame selector tap slightly and light the gas. Set the base flame to the minimum level you want with the flame selector. When you need more power, press the trigger. Releasing the trigger automatically returns the flame to the set minimum size.
Shutting down: First close the gas cylinder valve. Let the gas in the hose burn off. Finally close the burner’s own flame selector tap. Let the device cool in a safe place before storing it.
Warnings:
- Extreme heat and fire hazard: The device produces a very powerful (53 kW) open flame. Use it only in a well-ventilated space or outdoors, well away from all flammable materials. Always keep extinguishing equipment to hand.
- For professionals/competent users only: Using the product requires appropriate skills and care.
- Risk of gas leaks: Always make sure the hose and connectors are intact and the connections tight. Never use a faulty device.
- Personal protective equipment: Always wear safety glasses and heat-resistant protective gloves. Avoid easily flammable clothing.
- Carbon monoxide hazard: Use in enclosed spaces can cause fatal carbon monoxide poisoning and lack of oxygen. Ensure adequate ventilation.
- Keep out of the reach of children: Store the burner and gas cylinders in a safe place out of the reach of children and unauthorised persons.
Choosing a gas hose and high-pressure regulator:
This guide helps you choose the right, safe equipment for the Idealgas 50 mm LPG burner. As this is a very powerful (53 kW) professional tool, choosing the right components is critical for both safety and the performance of the device.
Note: The Idealgas burner needs high pressure to work. Never use an ordinary low-pressure gas barbecue regulator (30 mbar), as it is not enough to run this device.
1. Choosing a high-pressure regulator (pressure regulator)
According to the burner’s technical data, its nominal pressure is 3 bar. This means you specifically need a high-pressure regulator that can deliver this pressure.
Checklist for choosing the regulator:
-
Output pressure: The regulator must deliver a pressure of at least 3 bar.
-
You can choose a fixed 3 bar regulator.
-
OR you can choose an adjustable high-pressure regulator (e.g. adjustment range 0–4 bar), which lets you set the pressure to the required 3 bar. An adjustable model gives more flexibility.
-
-
Capacity: Make sure the regulator’s flow capacity (kg/h) is sufficient for a 53 kW burner. High-pressure regulators are usually designed for higher flow rates.
-
Inlet connection: Choose a regulator that fits the gas cylinder you use. In Finland, the most common cylinder for high-pressure use is a steel cylinder with a threaded valve (side valve). Make sure the regulator connector fits your cylinder.
2. Choosing the gas hose
The right hose is a vital safety factor. Never use anything other than official LPG hoses.
Checklist for choosing the hose:
-
Diameter (size): The burner is designed for use with an 8 mm gas hose. The inner diameter of the hose must be 8 mm to fit tightly on the burner’s connection spigot.
-
Material and rating: Use only a rubber hose approved under the laws of the country of import and intended specifically for LPG (propane/butane). The hose must comply with the standards (e.g. an EN standard).
-
Pressure rating: Make sure the hose is rated for the high pressure used (at least the maximum pressure of the regulator). High-pressure hoses are often reinforced.
-
Frost resistance: If you use the burner outdoors in cold conditions (with propane), check that the hose is frost-resistant so it does not become brittle.
-
Length: Choose a hose length that lets you work at a safe distance from the gas cylinder, but avoid unnecessarily long hoses because of the tripping hazard and pressure loss.
3. Connectors and safe installation
Once you have the right regulator and hose, they must be connected safely.
-
Hose clamps: The hose must be clamped tightly onto the burner’s hose spigot with suitable hose clamps. Use good-quality metal clamps of the right size that do not damage the hose but grip it tightly.
-
Regulator end: Depending on the regulator you choose, the hose is attached to it either with a threaded connection (which needs a crimp connector on the hose) or with a hose clamp on the regulator spigot. Follow the regulator manufacturer’s instructions.
-
Leak test (IMPORTANT): Before you light the burner for the first time (and always after changing the cylinder), do a leak test. Brush soapy water or leak detector spray onto all connection points (cylinder valve, regulator connections, both ends of the hose). Open the gas cylinder valve. If you see bubbles, the connection is leaking. Tighten the connections and test again. Do not use the device if it leaks.
