Description
The Kapro 8991G PROLASER® ELECTROTA™ rotary laser level set is a rotating laser with automatic electronic self-levelling that uses a highly visible green laser beam. This rotary laser set gives full 360-degree coverage and is designed for large-scale levelling and alignment work. Thanks to electronic levelling, the accuracy of the device is among the best in its class, ±0.1 mm/m. The green beam offers better visibility than red beams, which makes it optimal for large indoor layout work without a receiver within a radius of 50 metres.
When working outdoors and over long distances, the laser receiver included in the set is used, which extends the working range of the device to a considerable 300 metre diameter. The Kapro 8991G rotary laser set is built to withstand demanding site conditions; its protection rating is IP65, which means complete protection against dust and resistance to water jets. The body of the device is robust and shock-absorbing. Flexibility in power supply comes from the rechargeable batteries supplied and separate battery holders, which also allow ordinary batteries to be used if the rechargeable battery runs flat.
This complete laser set contains all the accessories needed for efficient work straight out of the box. In addition to the laser itself, the pack includes a remote control for remote operation, a laser detector for long distances, Beamfinder® glasses that improve the visibility of the beam, batteries and a charger, and a sturdy, impact-resistant case for transport and storage. The fast automatic ±5 degree self-levelling of the device minimises set-up time on site and ensures accurate measurement results with little effort.
Intended use:
The Kapro 8991G rotary laser set is designed for a wide range of levelling and alignment tasks in construction and installation work, both indoors and outdoors.
- Interior construction: The device is excellent, for example, for installing suspended ceilings, aligning partition walls, levelling floors and aligning electrical or plumbing installations. The good visibility of the green beam makes work easier without a receiver even in large interiors.
- Exterior construction and groundwork: Together with the laser detector, the 8991G is an effective tool for transferring heights, levelling foundations, formwork, checking the falls of drainage and landscaping over a large 300 metre area. The IP65 rating ensures it works in wet and dusty conditions.
Kapro 8991G rotary laser set package contents:
- 1 pc Kapro 8991G rotary laser
- 1 pc remote control
- 1 pc laser detector (receiver) and bracket
- 1 pc Beamfinder® laser glasses
- 1 pc rechargeable batteries (NiMH)
- 1 pc battery charger
- 2 pcs battery holders (for both rechargeable and ordinary batteries)
- 1 pc impact-resistant case
Features:
- Green laser beam: The green beam is considerably more visible to the human eye than red, which makes work indoors easier and extends the visible range without a detector.
- Electronic self-levelling: Motorised electronic self-levelling gives a high accuracy of ±0.1 mm/m and a wide levelling range of ±5 degrees.
- Long range: The range of the device extends to 300 metres (diameter) when using the laser detector supplied, which allows work on large sites.
- IP65 protection: The dust-tight and water-jet-proof construction ensures the reliability of the device in demanding and changing weather conditions.
- 360° coverage: The rotating head forms a continuous horizontal line around the whole space, allowing several people to work at the same height at the same time.
- Versatile power supply: Works either with rechargeable NiMH batteries or ordinary batteries thanks to the holders supplied, which stops work being interrupted when power runs out.
- Comprehensive equipment: The impact-resistant case and remote control add comfort in use and protect the device during transport.

Kapro rotary laser set 8991G instructions for use:
Before using the device, make sure the rechargeable batteries are fully charged or fresh batteries have been inserted the right way round in the battery holder. Place the laser on a stable surface or attach it to a tripod with the 5/8″ thread. Switch on with the power button. The device carries out automatic electronic self-levelling. The laser beam flashes or the rotating head does not rotate until the device is level. When self-levelling is complete, the beam starts to rotate and forms a horizontal laser line.
Use the remote control to adjust the rotation speed or activate the scan function (narrowed sector) if you are working only in a specific area and want to maximise the visibility of the beam. Outdoors or over long distances, switch on the laser receiver and move it up and down at the expected height of the laser line. The arrows and audible signal of the receiver guide you to the right height. Attach the receiver to a grade rod with the bracket to measure differences in height.
Always store the device in its case when it is not in use. Avoid strong impacts and vibration, even though the device is robust. Clean the laser windows regularly with a clean, soft cloth to ensure accuracy. If the device is not used for a long time, remove the rechargeable or ordinary batteries to avoid leaks. Check the accuracy of the device regularly, especially before important measurements or if the device has been dropped.
Warnings:
- Laser radiation: The device is a class II laser. Do not look directly into the laser beam or point it at the eyes of other people or animals.
- Reflective surfaces: Beware of the beam reflecting back into the eyes from mirrors, glass or other shiny surfaces.
- Stability: Always make sure the device is placed on a stable surface or properly attached to a tripod to prevent it falling over and being damaged.
- Power supply: Use only the recommended batteries and charger. The wrong batteries or charger can cause a risk of fire or explosion.
- Servicing: Do not try to dismantle or repair the device yourself. Only an authorised service centre may service the device.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
- Can the Kapro 8991G be used outdoors in the rain?:
Yes, the IP65 rating of the device means it is dust-tight and withstands water jets from any direction, so it is suitable for work in rainy conditions. - What is the advantage of a green beam over a red one?:
Green light is about four times more visible to the human eye than red at the same power, which improves the visibility of the beam indoors and extends the working distance without a receiver. - How accurate is the Kapro 8991G?:
The accuracy of the device is very high, ±0.1 mm/m. - How does the remote control work?:
With the remote control you can control laser functions, such as rotation speed and scan mode, remotely without having to go to the device. - Can the device be used with ordinary batteries?:
Yes, the set includes separate battery holders that let you use ordinary C batteries if the rechargeable batteries are flat.
