Description
The Painter paint roller set 10 cm velour is designed especially for applying demanding finishes such as oils and varnishes. The pack consists of a plastic paint tray, a roller frame and a 10 cm wide replacement roller with a 4 mm velour pile. This combination is optimised for jobs that require absolute smoothness and evenness without roller lines or air bubbles.
One of the properties of velour is its ability to release the finish very evenly onto the material being treated. The 4 mm pile length is a critical factor in varnishing and oiling, as a short pile does not raise air bubbles in the surface, a common problem when working with longer-pile rollers. The short pile also stops the roller absorbing too much product, which improves the coverage and control of thinner products.
The tray in the set is designed to match the dimensions of the 10 cm roller, and its ribbed friction surface allows precise dosing of paint or varnish onto the roller. The compact design of the tray makes it easier to place in confined work spaces. The shape of the roller frame guarantees a firm grip, and the fixing mechanism of the replacement roller holds the roller tightly in place as it rotates, preventing it from slipping.
Known by the product code ZES0182, the Painter paint roller set 10 cm is supplied as a complete set, which reduces the need to buy separate components. The 10 cm working width of the set is suitable for precise treatment of narrow and small areas such as mouldings, furniture parts and door panels.
Intended use:
- Varnishing: Excellent for varnishing furniture, doors and wooden worktops with water- and solvent-based varnishes. The 4 mm velour pile ensures a bubble-free, even varnish surface that is hard to achieve with coarser materials.
- Oiling wooden surfaces: Treating wooden worktops, panels and furniture with wood oils. The velour roller transfers the oil evenly into the grain for absorption without leaving puddles on the surface.
- Furniture painting: Painting smooth surfaces such as cabinet doors and table tops with thinned paints, aiming for a very even result resembling spray painting without brush strokes.

Painter paint roller set 10 cm velour instructions for use:
Clean dust, dirt and grease thoroughly off the surface before oiling or varnishing. Remove any loose fibres from the velour roller by rolling it lightly against masking tape before first use. Pour varnish or oil into the well of the paint tray. Dip the roller in the liquid and roll it back and forth against the ribbed bottom of the tray until the product has spread evenly over the whole roller and the roller does not drip. Apply the product to the wood with long, calm strokes along the grain. Avoid pressing the roller too hard against the surface so that the film is even. Clean the tray, frame and roller immediately after work with the thinner recommended by the product manufacturer (e.g. white spirit, turpentine or water).
Warnings:
When working with oils and solvent-based varnishes, make sure the room is well ventilated. Wear protective gloves and a respirator if needed, according to the product manufacturer’s instructions. Products containing linseed oil or other oils that heat up as they dry can cause a risk of spontaneous combustion in the roller or cleaning cloths; dispose of or store used rollers as instructed by the oil manufacturer, for example in a closed container filled with water.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
- Can the velour roller be used with water-based varnishes?: Yes, the velour roller is excellent for applying both water- and solvent-based varnishes and oils.
- Does the velour roller shed fibres into the varnish?: Velour is a very low-shedding material. Before first use, however, it is recommended to remove manufacturing dust by rolling the roller on masking tape.
- How do I clean the roller after varnishing?: The cleaning agent depends on the varnish used. Water-based varnishes are washed out with water and soap, solvent-based varnishes with the thinner intended for them (e.g. turpentine).
Recycling instructions:
The dried, empty plastic tray and the plastic handle of the frame can be sorted into plastic collection if the metal frame has been removed. A clean metal frame is sorted into metal collection. A used velour roller containing varnish, oil or paint residue should be sorted into hazardous waste collection or, according to local waste regulations, into mixed waste depending on the residue.
