Description

Procat hole saw arbor is a connecting tool used to attach a hole saw to the chuck of a drill or other driving tool. The arbor forms a sturdy connection that allows the hole saw to rotate and drill into the workpiece in a controlled way. Procat offers a comprehensive range of arbors designed to fit hole saws of different sizes and different machines, such as traditional hex chucks and machines with an SDS+ connection.

The arbor has an integrated pilot drill, located in the centre of the hole saw. This pilot drill positions the hole saw exactly in the centre of the hole to be drilled before the teeth of the saw touch the material. This reduces vibration and ensures that the hole is drilled exactly where you want it. Procat arbors are available for both small (16–30 mm) and large (32–210 mm) hole saws. The depth of the pilot drill can be adjusted and the drill can be replaced.

Procat arbors are made of steel and are available with different shank types. Arbors with a hexagonal shank (hex, 10 mm or 11 mm) fit ordinary drills, while arbors with an SDS+ shank are intended for the SDS+ connections of rotary hammers (with the hammer function switched off). The arbors are threaded for attaching hole saws, and the thread is compatible with most bi-metal hole saws.

Procat hole saw arbor instructions for use:

Before use, make sure you choose a Procat arbor that suits the hole saw size and the chuck of your machine. Fit the pilot drill in the arbor and make sure it is locked firmly in place with the side screw. Adjust the length of the pilot drill so that it reaches beyond the level of the hole saw teeth. Screw the hole saw onto the arbor and make sure it is tight. Place the tip of the pilot drill at the centre of the hole to be drilled and press lightly so that the drill sinks into the material. Start drilling at a slow speed with even pressure. Drill the centre of the hole with the pilot drill first, and let the teeth of the hole saw touch the material after that. Drill the hole all the way through. Remove the hole saw from the arbor after drilling.

Always wear safety glasses when using the hole saw and arbor.
Make sure the pilot drill is tight before drilling.
Do not use an arbor with an SDS+ shank with the hammer function of the rotary hammer switched on.
Make sure the hole saw is tight on the arbor.
