Description
The Narex PRO wood chisel set (WOOD LINE PROFI) is a four-piece set designed for woodworking professionals who value tradition and style. The set includes the most commonly needed sizes, 6 mm, 12 mm, 20 mm and 26 mm, offering versatility for different tasks. The chisels are bevel-edged, which allows precise work even in tight corners and joints.
The blades of the chisels are forged from high-alloy chrome-manganese steel (Cr-Mn). The blades are heat-treated to a hardness of 59 HRc, which guarantees excellent edge retention and durability in demanding use. The blades are supplied fully ground and sharpened, so they are ready to use immediately. The product meets the requirements of the DIN 5139 standard, which demonstrates its dimensional accuracy and quality.
Comfort is ensured by an ergonomic handle with an oval cross-section for the best possible grip. The wooden handle is finished by staining and waxing, which gives it a traditional look and protection. The durability of the construction is ensured by a steel ferrule and hoop on the handle, which protect the handle from splitting when it takes blows.
Intended use:
This professional-grade wood chisel set is designed for versatile woodworking in different industries and crafts.
- Joinery and furniture making: The bevel-edged chisels are excellent for joints that require precision, cutting hinge recesses and general material removal. The 59 HRc hardness ensures that the edge stays sharp even in hardwood.
- Construction joinery and installation: The steel-reinforced handles withstand striking with a mallet, which makes the set suitable for heavier installation work on site too, such as fitting frames and cutting notches in frame structures.
- Restoration and fine joinery: The ergonomic handle and ready-to-use edge allow precise, controlled work in demanding restoration projects.

Instructions for use:
Use: This is a cutting tool. It can be used by pushing by hand for precise work or by striking with a mallet for heavier material removal. The handles of the chisels have a steel ferrule and hoop, which makes them more resistant to blows. However, use a wooden or rubber mallet first and foremost to spare the handle. Do not use a metal hammer, as it damages the end of the wooden handle and the striking ring over time. Always keep the workpiece firmly clamped. Always cut away from your body and hands.
Sharpening and maintenance: Although the blade is extremely durable and hard (59 HRc), it goes blunt in use. Sharpen the chisels regularly with high-quality sharpening stones (e.g. water, oil or diamond stones) to keep the best cutting performance. Working with a blunt chisel needs more force and is more dangerous. Clean the blades after use and apply a thin layer of machine oil to prevent rust during storage. Store the chisels in a dry place with the blades protected.
Warnings:
- Extremely sharp: The chisels are supplied fully ground and sharpened. Handle with care to avoid cuts. Never test the sharpness with your finger.
- Cutting direction: Always work so that the blade moves away from yourself and other people. Keep your free hand out of the path of the blade.
- Correct striking tool: We recommend using a wooden or rubber mallet. Using a metal hammer can damage the handle.
- Safety glasses: Always wear safety glasses, especially when striking the chisel with a mallet, to protect your eyes from flying wood chips.
- Not a prying tool: Do not use the chisel as a prying tool or crowbar. The blade can break if misused.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
Do the chisels need sharpening before first use?
No. The chisels in the Narex PRO set are supplied from the factory fully ground and sharpened, so they are ready to use immediately.
Can these chisels be struck with a hammer?
Yes, the handles have a steel ferrule and hoop to withstand striking. However, we recommend using a wooden or rubber mallet to maximise the life of the tool.
What does “bevel-edged” mean?
It means that the sides of the chisel blade are bevelled thinner towards the edges. This gives better access to tight corners, for example when making dovetail joints.
Recycling instructions:
At the end of its life, the product must be disposed of properly.

- Wooden parts (handles): Can be recycled as wood waste or used as energy waste according to local regulations.
