The Narex story begins in 1919, when Václav Richter founded a tool workshop in Bystřice. Over a hundred years the factory grew into one of Europe's best-known makers of wood chisels, and the Richter name lives on in the brand's most highly regarded chisel range.
Narex is now part of the Mikov group, a Czech maker of hand tools and knives based in Mikulášovice. Manufacturing has stayed in the Czech Republic, and production still focuses on the same things as a hundred years ago: hardened Cr-Mn steel, precise grinding and a balance you only really feel in the hand after hours of work.

Stock items are typically delivered within 48 hours anywhere in Finland. Normal delivery time is 1–5 working days, depending on the shipping method and destination. We also deliver to the other Nordic countries and the Baltics, with delivery time and costs agreed per order. Products can also be collected from our Vantaa warehouse by arrangement.
Narex chisels are supplied factory-sharpened and ready to use. For professional use, however, it is worth finishing the edge on a sharpening stone before the first job, so the bevel suits your own particular use.
Richter is Narex's professional range: a thicker blade, longer hardening and a ground back, intended for daily professional use. Wood Line is a lighter range for hobbyists and more occasional use. Both are made from the same Cr-Mn steel.
Impact-resistant models have a through tang and an impact-resistant handle, so they can be struck with a wooden or plastic mallet. The handles in the lighter ranges are intended for working by hand pressure: using a steel hammer will break the handle.
