Description
Edma step stool 3 steps is a folding, double-sided aluminium step stool with a maximum working height of 65.4 cm and a maximum load of 150 kg (the user and the equipment they carry combined). The step stool is made to the standard EN 14183 (step stools) and is intended for use by one person at a time on a level surface.
The construction is light: the step stool weighs 2.7 kg, and when opened its legs cover an area of 65.1 x 40.5 cm on the floor. The double-sided construction means that you can climb onto the step stool from both sides, and the top platform also serves as a wide standing and working surface. The steps have anti-slip surfaces, and the legs have replaceable plastic anti-slip feet that protect the floor and improve grip.
The step stool has a manual locking system that locks the legs in the open position. The lock is pressed into place before climbing onto the step stool, and when folded the step stool takes up little space in transport and storage. The top platform has a notch that can be used to support the workpiece when sawing with a handsaw, for example.
The step stool is suitable for moderate use where a platform that is steadier than a ladder and quick to move is needed: indoor ceiling and wall work, plasterboard installation, painting, electrical and HVAC installation, and warehouses. Left and right feet with screws are available as spare parts (Edma 526020 and 526021). The same range includes the Edma work platform 98 cm, 2 steps, which offers a longer working platform.
Intended use and suitability:
The step stool replaces short ladders and stools in work where the working height is around 2.5 metres and the user must stand steadily on both feet.
- Plasterboard and indoor ceiling work: the 65 cm high, wide top platform gives a stable standing surface for screwing, jointing and filling boards; the double-sided construction speeds up moving from one side of the work to the other.
- Painting and wallpapering: the step stool can be lifted with one hand and moved along the wall, and the anti-slip feet leave no marks on the floor.
- Electrical and HVAC installation: the aluminium construction is light to carry from one job to the next. Note: aluminium conducts electricity, so a non-conductive step stool must be used near live parts.
- Warehouses, shops and households: restocking top shelves and light maintenance work that needs a steady, quick-folding platform.
- As a work surface: the notch in the top platform supports the piece being sawn, and tools can be put down on the platform within reach.

Edma step stool 3 steps instructions for use:
Setting up: Open the step stool by pulling the legs out until they stop at the limiter. Check that the locking system has engaged in the open position; press it if necessary. Place the step stool on a horizontal, level and non-slip surface so that all the legs are on the floor.
Use: Climb onto and off the step stool facing it. Stand with both feet on the top platform, do not lean out to the side and do not do work that requires sideways force. Only one person may be on the step stool at a time, and it must not be moved while someone is standing on it. Wear sturdy footwear with a good grip. The maximum total load is 150 kg.
Before each use: Visually check the steps, legs, feet and lock; a bent, worn or damaged step stool must not be used, and no makeshift repairs may be made. Remove wet paint, dirt, oil or snow before use.
Maintenance and storage: Wipe the step stool with a clean cloth after work. Store it dry, out of the reach of weather and site damage. Use only Edma components as spare parts. In professional use, a competent person must inspect the step stool regularly and the inspections are recorded.
Warnings:
- Maximum load 150 kg, only one user at a time.
- Use only on a level, horizontal and non-slip surface, not on uneven ground.
- Do not use the step stool outdoors in strong wind or in rain/snow.
- Aluminium conducts electricity: do not use the step stool near live conductors; a non-conductive step stool must be used for electrical work.
- Do not use the step stool as a walkway, for moving goods or for anything other than a step stool.
- Do not climb onto the step stool when tired, dizzy or under the influence of alcohol or medicines that affect your reactions.
- Check the lock before climbing; do not modify the construction of the step stool.
- Be aware of the risk of collision with doors, pedestrians and vehicles; lock the doors (not emergency exits) and windows of the work area where possible.
