Description
This Vorel diamond disc represents cutting technology optimised especially for working hard stone and building materials. The body of the disc is made of steel with integrated diamond segments that maintain its cutting power. The segmented design is intended specifically for dry cutting, so no separate water cooling is needed while cutting.
The slots between the segments are a critical factor in the disc’s heat management. They let air flow through the disc, cooling it under friction, which prevents the blade from overheating in long work. These slots also carry cutting dust and loose material efficiently out of the kerf. This prevents the disc from binding and makes work smoother.
In terms of materials, this cutting disc is versatile. It handles ordinary bricks, concrete, clinker and various block materials. Because it is a segmented disc, its cut is characteristically slightly rougher than that of continuous rim or turbo discs. For this reason, it is an ideal solution for sites and work stages where an extremely neat surface is not a primary technical requirement.
The disc is fitted to an angle grinder with a standard fitting. When used correctly, the diamond matrix of the blade wears mechanically to expose new diamond crystals, which keeps the cutting power even over the whole life of the product. The properties of the body together with effective cooling make this disc an optimal tool for repeated cutting work in various installation environments.
Intended use:
- Construction sites: For cutting concrete, brick and blocks in framing or renovation. The segmented design allows cutting without circulating water.
- Landscaping and groundworks: For shaping paving stones, kerbs and other concrete or stone-based landscaping materials on site.
- Demolition work: For controlled demolition of stone-based structures and cutting materials into sections for removal.
Package contents:
- 1 pc Vorel diamond disc segmented
Features:
- Segmented cutting edge: The slotted edge maximises air circulation, which keeps the blade cool in dry cutting and clears grinding dust from the kerf.
- Diamond matrix: The bond, designed for its wear properties, keeps exposing new diamond crystals.
- Steel body: The body construction prevents the disc from bending and minimises vibration at operating speeds.
- Dry cutting: Designed for use without water, which allows work on sites where no water cooling system is available.
Technical specifications:
- Cutting type: Dry cutting
- Material: Steel body, diamond-coated segments
- Suitable materials: Concrete, brick, blocks, paving stones
- Compatibility: Angle grinders (standard fitting)
- Construction: Segmented
Vorel diamond disc segmented instructions for use:
Check the disc for cracks, fractures or distortion before each use. A faulty disc must not be used. Make sure the angle grinder’s power cord is unplugged or the battery removed before fitting the disc. Place the disc on the spindle of the machine so that the direction of rotation arrow on the disc matches the direction of rotation of the machine. Tighten the disc nut according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Always wear suitable protective equipment such as safety glasses, ear defenders, a class P3 respirator and protective gloves. Make sure the workpiece is secured so that it cannot move during the cut. Let the angle grinder reach full speed before bringing the disc into contact with the material.
Do not press the machine hard against the material; let the speed of the disc and the diamond segments do the cutting. Too much force can make the disc overheat or warp. On long cuts, use a light pumping movement or lift the disc out of the kerf from time to time to let air cool it. The disc is intended only for straight cutting, not for side grinding.
Warnings:
- Dust hazard: Working stone materials produces fine dust that is harmful to breathe. Wear a suitable respirator and make sure there is ventilation.
- Hazard from fragments: Pieces of stone may break off during cutting. Eye protection or a face shield is mandatory.
- Risk of kickback: If the disc jams in the material, the machine can kick back. Always hold the machine firmly with both hands.
- Overheating: Avoid long continuous cuts without breaks to air-cool the blade, to prevent damage to the disc body or segments.
- Limitation of use: Do not use the disc for side grinding of materials, as side pressure can break the disc body.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
Can this disc be used with water cooling?
This product is technically optimised for dry cutting. Water cooling is not needed; the heat of the disc is managed by ventilation, lifting the disc out of the kerf from time to time while working.
What materials is the segmented diamond disc primarily intended for?
The disc is for general use on basic building materials such as concrete, brick, various blocks and paving stones.
Why is the edge of the blade segmented?
The segments and the slots in the cutting edge improve air circulation, which cools the blade effectively. The slots also carry cutting dust out of the kerf, which prevents the disc from jamming.
Recycling instructions:
A worn-out diamond disc taken out of use is made mainly of steel. Clean loose stone dust off the disc and sort it into metal collection. The original packaging of the product should be recycled according to its material, in either cardboard or plastic collection, according to local waste management instructions.
