Description
Vorel diamond disc turbo is designed to give an optimal balance between cutting speed and a clean finish on the work surface. Unlike conventional segmented blades, this model has a continuous, profiled cutting rim. This so-called turbo design allows very fast material removal while significantly reducing vibration on the workpiece. The result is a cleaner, more accurate cut than with rougher disc types.
The body of the disc is made of solid steel with a turbo-patterned diamond matrix attached to it. The profiled rim is designed both to cut efficiently and to carry heat away from the blade under friction. This is essential in dry cutting, where the disc’s own construction must manage the heat load generated by cutting. The shape of the turbo grooves creates an airflow that acts as the disc’s cooling mechanism.
In terms of applications, the Vorel diamond disc turbo is suitable for many different stone-based materials. It cuts ordinary concrete, clinker, various bricks and hard building blocks efficiently. Thanks to its continuous rim, it is excellent for jobs that need a neater edge and less chipping at the cut, making it a versatile solution for various working environments.
The disc is fitted to an angle grinder with an ordinary standard fitting. In correct use, the diamond bond wears evenly and keeps exposing new, sharp diamond crystals for working the material. To ensure optimal performance and maximise the life of the blade, use the disc according to the cutting methods specified for it, letting the blade turn freely and cool sufficiently in the air.
Intended use:
- Construction sites: Fast, clean cutting of concrete, brick and blocks in the framing and installation stages. The turbo rim reduces chipping on cut faces that remain visible.
- Tiling and stone work: Fitting and cutting clinker and thicker stone tiles when the work is done by dry cutting on site.
- Landscaping and groundworks: Shaping and cutting paving stones, kerbs and wall concrete to size without continuous water cooling.
Package contents:
- 1 pc Vorel diamond disc turbo
Features:
- Turbo profile: The continuous, serrated cutting rim minimises vibration and reduces breakage at the edge of the material being worked.
- Efficient air cooling: The profile of the rim is designed to maximise air circulation, which prevents the blade from overheating in long dry cutting.
- Diamond matrix: The wear-resistant bond is optimised to keep exposing new diamond crystals, which keeps the cutting performance even.
- Steel body: The sturdy body keeps the disc stable and straight at high speeds, which ensures cutting accuracy.
Technical specifications:
- Cutting type: Dry cutting
- Construction: Turbo (continuous profiled rim)
- Material: Steel body, diamond-coated cutting rim
- Suitable materials: Concrete, brick, clinker, blocks, paving stones
- Compatibility: Angle grinders (standard fitting)
Vorel diamond disc turbo instructions for use:
Before fitting the disc to the machine, check it carefully for damage such as distortion or cracks in the body. Make sure the angle grinder is completely isolated from power (power cord unplugged or battery removed). Fit the disc on the spindle so that the direction of rotation arrow printed on the blade matches the direction of rotation of the machine. Tighten the disc nut as instructed by the manufacturer, making sure the disc sits firmly and straight.
Always wear protective equipment when working: safety glasses or a face shield, ear defenders, a class P3 respirator and work gloves. Make sure the workpiece is supported and fixed in place. Start the machine and let it reach full speed before bringing the disc into contact with the material. The turbo disc cuts most efficiently when you let the machine’s own weight and speed do the work.
Do not force the disc through the material with excessive force. If you make deep cuts, lift the disc out of the kerf now and then and let it spin freely for a few seconds. This removes the heat built up in the disc body and extends its service life. This disc is intended only for straight cuts. Never use it for bevelling the workpiece or for side grinding.
Warnings:
- Respiratory hazard: Dry cutting produces a lot of harmful stone dust. Local extraction and a suitable respirator are essential.
- Mechanical breakage: Side twisting or grinding can break the steel body of the disc, which leads to dangerous flying parts.
- Hazard from fragments: Fragments with high kinetic energy can break off the material being worked. Eye protection is mandatory.
- Kickback: If the blade wedges in the kerf, it can cause strong kickback. Hold the machine firmly with both hands.
- Heat: The disc gets very hot during use. Avoid touching the disc right after work and take breaks to let it cool in the air.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
What is the difference between a turbo disc and a segmented disc?
A turbo disc has a continuous, serrated rim that gives a neater, smoother cut and reduces vibration. A segmented disc has deep slots that remove material more aggressively, but the cut is rougher.
Does this disc need water cooling?
No. This blade is designed specifically for dry cutting. Heat is managed by the airflow created by the turbo profile, as long as the blade is not overloaded.
Is the turbo disc suitable for cutting ceramic tiles?
It is suitable for rougher clinker tiles and thicker stone tiles. For cutting very delicate or thin ceramic interior tiles, a smooth continuous rim tile disc is recommended to minimise chipping.
Recycling instructions:
When the diamond disc is worn out and can no longer be used safely, clean off loose dirt and dust. The disc can then go to metal collection, as its main material is steel. The packaging materials of the product are sorted into cardboard or plastic collection according to local instructions.
