Description
The Yato YT-45744 is a 600 gram, 345 mm long scaffolder’s hammer fitted with a safety strap hole. The product has a one-piece monoblock construction, with the whole hammer forged from a single piece of CS45 carbon steel. This seamless construction ensures optimal power transfer when striking and eliminates the risk of the handle coming loose, which is typical of conventional hammers.
The hammer head is treated to a hardness of 45–58 HRC, which prevents the striking face from deforming under repeated use. The surface is polished and lacquered, which gives protection against corrosion and makes cleaning easier. The 155 mm long head has a right-angled claw with two prongs. This design is intended specifically for pulling old nails out of timber structures efficiently, using leverage.
Handling and work safety are improved by the ergonomic two-component grip made of TPR (thermoplastic rubber) and PP (polypropylene) materials. The grip materials and shape dampen the vibration from striking and give a non-slip grip. The safety strap hole built into the lower end of the handle lets you attach the tool to fall protection, which is a critical feature in installation work at height.
Intended use:
- Scaffolding and work at height: Thanks to the safety strap hole, the hammer can be attached to a tool lanyard, which stops it falling and improves work safety on scaffolding and roofs.
- Construction and carpentry: Thanks to the heavy 600 gram head and balanced design, it is suitable for efficient nailing and assembling timber structures.
- Demolition work: The hammer’s two-pronged claw is designed for pulling nails and removing timber parts during demolition.

Yato scaffolder’s hammer PRO instructions for use:
Check the condition of the tool before use to make sure there are no cracks in the body or grip. When working at height, always attach the hammer to a suitable tool lanyard through the safety strap hole in the handle. Strike only with the hammer’s flat striking face. To pull nails, use the claw on the opposite side of the head, using the handle as a lever. Clean dirt and moisture off the tool after use to prevent corrosion.
Warnings:
Note the following warnings when using the product:
- Risk of eye injury: Always wear safety glasses when hammering, because splinters or nails coming loose on impact can cause eye injuries.
- Falling object hazard: If a safety strap is not used when working at height, a falling 600 gram hammer is a serious safety risk to people below.
- Risk of material fracture: Do not strike another hammer or hardened steel tools (such as chisels not intended to be struck with a hammer), as the hardened surface may chip.
- Risk of electric shock: The tool is not electrically insulated. Avoid contact with live parts.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
Q: Can fall protection be attached to this hammer?
A: Yes, the lower end of the hammer’s handle has a safety strap hole to which a standard tool lanyard or strap can be attached for work at height.
Q: What does monoblock construction mean in a hammer?
A: Monoblock construction means that the head and handle of the hammer are forged from one single piece of steel. This stops the handle coming loose and makes the structure extremely rigid.
Q: Is the claw suitable for pulling large nails?
A: Yes, the 155 mm long hardened claw combined with the steel handle gives a strong lever for pulling even large nails out of structures.
Recycling instructions:
The body of the product is carbon steel. It should be sorted into metal collection when the tool reaches the end of its life. Packaging materials (such as cardboard) should be taken to cardboard collection.
