Description
The BeaverCraft S08 carving set offers a versatile selection of tools for various woodworking and carving projects. This set of eight different knives covers everything from creating detailed geometric patterns to working concave surfaces such as kuksa cups and spoons. Each tool in the set is designed to meet the requirements of a different carving technique, which lets you make a wide range of wooden items. The knives combine carefully considered blade angles with a practical design that makes working the wood controlled.
The blades are made of hard carbon steel with a hardness rating of 58 HRC. This choice of material ensures long-lasting sharpness and also makes the blades easy to sharpen. A carbon steel blade cuts wood efficiently, leaving clean, clear cuts. Because carbon steel reacts to moisture, the blades need regular maintenance and light oiling to keep their properties in the long term.
The handles are shaped from durable ash treated with natural linseed oil. The handle shape follows the lines of the hand, ensuring a firm, safe grip while you work. The properties of ash make the handles feel solid and resist wear, which helps keep the feel of the work stable through longer carving sessions.
Besides the knives, the pack contains the essential accessories for maintaining and storing the tools. The green polishing compound and leather strop supplied allow regular fine honing and maintenance sharpening of the blades at home or in the workshop. The whole set travels protected in a durable canvas tool roll with its own pocket for each knife. This protects the blades from knocks and keeps the tools organised.

BeaverCraft carving set 8-piece instructions for use:
Always make sure the knives are clean and sharp before use. Hone the carbon steel blades regularly as you work, using the leather strop and green polishing compound supplied, so that the cut stays safe and controlled. Because the tools are made of carbon steel, they are prone to rust. Always store the tools in a completely dry place, protected from moisture. For long-term storage, it is worth wiping the blades lightly with a thin layer of machine oil or a similar protective oil to prevent corrosion. After use, clean any sawdust and resin off the blades before putting them back in the pockets of the canvas roll.
Warnings:
Always take care and follow the safety instructions when handling the tools:
- The blades of the product are very sharp and can cause serious cuts if handled incorrectly.
- Wear suitable protective equipment such as cut-resistant gloves or finger guards while working.
- Always direct whittling and cutting movements away from yourself and other people.
- Do not leave the tools within the reach of children or pets.
- Carbon steel can start to rust quickly if it is stored wet or in a damp place.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
How do I look after the carbon steel blades in the set correctly?
Wipe the blades dry immediately after use. Sharpen and finish the knives regularly with the leather strop and compound in the pack. Apply a light coat of oil to the blades for longer storage to prevent rust.
How are the leather strop and polishing compound used?
Rub the green polishing compound lightly onto the surface of the leather strop. Draw the knife blade along the leather away from the cutting direction, keeping the original bevel angle of the blade even throughout the stroke.
Is the set suitable for working different types of wood?
Yes, the 58 HRC carbon steel blades cut the most common carving woods in a controlled, efficient way when the blades are kept sharp regularly as instructed.
Recycling instructions:
