Description
Bleispitz refill lead for dry pencil is a six-lead refill pack for the Bleispitz dry deep-hole marker. The lead diameter is 2.8 mm and the length 120 mm, and the leads come pre-sharpened, so they are ready to use as soon as they are put in the pencil.
The marker works on the principle of a thin, long tip that reaches the bottom of a drill hole or recess deeper than an ordinary wooden pencil. The lead’s 2.8 mm diameter is a compromise between two requirements: thin enough to fit in a narrow hole and thick enough not to break when pressed against a rough surface.
The pack is available in four colour options. Graphite marks almost all surfaces and works on both rough and smooth substrates. Yellow lead is waterproof and keeps the mark in damp conditions. Red stands out on dark, smooth surfaces where the sheen of graphite disappears into the background. The mix pack contains two of each of the three.
The leads are packed in a compartmented plastic case, where they stay separate and unbroken in the tool bag. The case also works as a storage box for an opened pack. The leads mark glass, metal, tile, plastic, wood and concrete.
Intended use and suitability:
Refill leads restore the marker to working order when the original lead has worn out or broken.
- Deep holes and recesses: the 120 mm long lead reaches the bottom of a drill hole and narrow grooves where a pencil tip cannot reach.
- Smooth and dark surfaces: red lead stands out on dark metal, tile and plastic, where a graphite mark stays faint.
- Damp conditions: the yellow waterproof lead keeps the mark on outdoor sites and wet surfaces.
- General marking: graphite lead suits wood, concrete, plasterboard, metal and plastic, on rough and smooth substrates alike.
- Mixed use: the mix pack keeps all three colours in one case when the surfaces vary from job to job.

Bleispitz refill lead for dry pencil instructions for use:
Changing the lead: Remove the tip section or push button of the marker, depending on the pencil model. Pull out the worn lead and push the new lead in from the tip end, sharpened end first. Reassemble the pencil and check that the lead moves freely and has not got stuck at an angle.
Marking: Place the tip of the pencil at the point to be marked and draw a line with even, light pressure. On a rough concrete surface, light pressure is enough; pressing hard breaks the lead. In deep holes, guide the body of the pencil in line with the hole so the lead does not bend against the edge of the hole.
Choosing the colour: Graphite for light and rough surfaces, red for dark and smooth surfaces, yellow for damp and outdoor surfaces.
Sharpening and storage: Sharpen a worn tip carefully with the marker’s own sharpener or a knife; the thin lead breaks easily. Store unused leads in the original compartmented case in a dry place below 40 °C.
Warnings:
- The thin lead is brittle and breaks when bent; a broken end is sharp.
- Do not put in the mouth or swallow. Keep out of the reach of children and pets.
- Protect from temperatures above 40 °C; heat can damage the lead and the plastic case.
- The mark is not permanent and must not be used as a safety-critical permanent marking.
- Avoid getting lead dust in your eyes when sharpening.
- Do not use the lead in any marker other than the one it is intended for; the wrong diameter jams the pencil mechanism.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
Which pencil does the Bleispitz refill lead for dry pencil fit? The Bleispitz dry marker 1379, which uses 2.8 mm diameter lead.
How many leads are in the pack? Six. The mix pack has two yellow, two red and two graphite leads.
Which colour should I choose for dark metal? Red. The sheen of graphite disappears into a dark, smooth surface, whereas red stands out clearly.
Does the mark withstand moisture? The yellow lead is waterproof and keeps the mark in damp conditions. The graphite and red leads are not waterproof.
Why does the lead keep breaking? The pressure is too hard or the body of the pencil is at an angle against the wall of the hole. Ease off the pressure and keep the pencil in line with the surface being marked.
Can the lead mark tile and glass? Yes. The leads mark glass, metal, tile, plastic, wood and concrete.
Does the lead need sharpening before use? No. The leads come pre-sharpened.
Recycling instructions:
Discarded lead pieces go to mixed waste; they are not suitable for paper or metal collection. Sort the empty plastic compartment case into plastic collection and the cardboard retail packaging into cardboard collection. It is worth keeping the case for storing other leads before disposing of it.
