Description

Narex wood rasp set 200 mm Fine Cut offers a comprehensive range of tools for precise, controlled shaping of wood. The set is designed especially for jobs where material is to be removed efficiently while leaving as neat and easily finished a surface as possible. The fine (Fine cut 22) teeth make these rasps excellent for work stages that call for precision, such as fitting joints and fine-tuning curved shapes.

The blade of the rasps is made of high-quality carbon steel, hardened to 49 HRc hardness. This hardness is optimised to withstand the wear caused by wood while keeping the teeth sharp for a long time. The blade length is 200 mm, which gives a good balance between reach and control. Each rasp has an ergonomic, stained and waxed hornbeam handle, which guarantees a secure grip and reduces hand fatigue during long periods of work.

This set covers the most common wood shaping needs thanks to three different profiles. The flat rasp is suitable for levelling straight surfaces and corners, the round rasp for working holes and small concave shapes, and the half-round rasp is a versatile choice for both flat and curved surfaces. Narex’s manufacturing process guarantees even spacing and height of the teeth, which minimises tearing of the surface being worked and guarantees a symmetrical result.

Intended use:

  • Precise shaping and fine adjustment: Fine-cut rasps are intended especially for shaping the wood surface in situations where an ordinary coarse rasp would leave grooves that are too deep. The Fine Cut teeth remove material in a controlled way, which allows very precise fits in furniture structures or carving, for example. The small tooth size ensures that the wood grain does not tear deeply but the surface is left evenly rough, so it is easy to finish with sandpaper or a card scraper. This is essential in professional woodworking, where control of surface quality is critical.

Narex wood rasp set 200 mm Fine Cut instructions for use:

Always use the rasps along the grain or at a slight angle to it for the best finish. Move the rasp with even pressure, pushing forwards; the rasp cuts only on the forward stroke. Do not press too hard on the return stroke, so that the teeth do not go blunt unnecessarily. Clean the teeth regularly with a soft metal brush (file card) so that wood chips and fine dust do not clog the blade. Store the rasps separately or in their original packaging so that the teeth of the blades do not hit each other and get damaged.

Warnings:

  • Always clamp the workpiece firmly to prevent slips and accidents.
  • Wood rasps are intended only for working wood and similar soft materials; working metal damages the teeth immediately.
  • Keep out of the reach of children; the teeth are very sharp and can cause cuts.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ):

What does “Fine cut 22” mean?
It refers to the density and size of the rasp teeth. The higher the number, the finer the finish and the more precise the work.

Is this set suitable for working hardwood?
Yes, the 49 HRc hardened carbon steel is excellent for shaping both softwoods and harder hardwoods.

How does a fine-cut rasp differ from a file?
A rasp has individual, raised teeth that remove wood more efficiently than the grooves of a file, but in the Fine Cut model these teeth are small, leaving a neat surface.

Recycling instructions:

Tunnistetiedot

Tuotenimi: Narex puuraspisarja 200 mm Fine Cut
Mallinumero/SKU: 872502 (Sarja sisältää osat 872552, 872562, 872572)
Valmistaja: Narex Bystrice s.r.o.

Suurin riski on hampaiden aiheuttamat haavat iholle lipsahdustilanteissa. Työkalun karkaistu hiiliteräs on kestävää, mutta haurasta sivuttaissuuntaiselle väännölle. Pölynmuodostus työstön aikana vaatii riittävän ilmanvaihdon tai hengityssuojaimen käytön.
