Description
Narex wood chisel set Premium 6 pieces contains six bevel-edged wood chisels in widths of 6, 10, 12, 16, 20 and 26 mm in a wooden case. The blades are forged from chrome manganese steel (Cr-Mn) and hardened to 59 HRc hardness, and they come precisely ground and sharpened, so the chisels are ready to use straight out of the case.
The Premium range blade has a shaped transition between blade and shank, which reduces friction between the shaving and the blade in deep cuts. The back and bevel of the blade are ground finer than usual, which allows very thin shavings and a precise fit in finger and dovetail joints, for example.
The handles are hornbeam: a dense, hard wood that withstands mallet blows without splitting and stays dimensionally stable as humidity changes. The ergonomic shape of the handle gives a firm grip both when pushing and when striking.
The set is intended for joinery, recessing fittings and precise finishing. For striking-heavy construction joinery, the same range offers the version with steel ferrule and ring, Narex wood chisel set Profi 6-12-16-20-26-32; for sharpening, the Narex honing guide and Narex sharpening stone.
Intended use and suitability:
The bevel-edged wood chisel is a basic joiner’s tool for precise work on joints, grooves and flat surfaces.
- Finger and dovetail joints: the finely ground blade and thin bevel cut a clean surface in the inside corners of the joint; 6 and 10 mm chisels for narrow pins.
- Fittings and recesses: 12–20 mm chisels for hinge and lock case recesses in furniture and door work.
- Finishing and levelling: the 26 mm chisel for levelling large surfaces and removing glue squeeze-out in thin shavings.
- Furniture joinery: the hornbeam handle withstands the mallet when joints are opened by striking instead of pushing by hand.

Narex wood chisel set Premium instructions for use:
Use: Choose the chisel that matches the width of the joint. Push the blade bevel down when paring thin shavings and bevel up when cutting out the bottom of a recess. Strike the end of the handle only with a wooden mallet.
Sharpening: Grind the bevel to an angle of 25–30° on a sharpening stone or with a honing guide and remove the burr from the back with a flat stone; never grind the back at an angle. Finish on a fine stone or with honing paste so that the Premium blade keeps its thin shaving.
Maintenance: Wipe the blades dry and oil them lightly after use. Store them in the case with the blades kept separate.
Warnings:
- Sharp blade: keep both hands behind the blade and push away from yourself.
- Do not use the chisel as a lever or screwdriver, as the blade can break.
- Strike only with a wooden mallet; a metal hammer damages the handle.
- Keep out of the reach of children, with the blades protected.

Sort the cardboard packaging into cardboard collection. Sort a worn-out Narex wood chisel set Premium: the blades into metal collection, the hornbeam handles and wooden case into wood waste or energy waste. Protect the sharp blades before disposal.
