Description
The Urko installation prop is a very high-quality, sturdy professional tool designed to act as a reliable “third hand” in all kinds of installation and construction work. Its impressive 180 kg load capacity makes it suitable even for demanding loads, such as temporarily supporting heavy ceiling boards or building materials. The prop is designed to withstand the strain of the site environment and to give long-lasting performance.
Usability is top class thanks to the two-stage adjustment mechanism. Rough length adjustment is done quickly by pulling the telescopic shaft out to the length you want. The final, precise tightening and fine adjustment is done by rotating the body of the prop. This rotation drives the threads at the ends, which tighten the prop firmly and safely in place between the supported piece and the surface.
Versatility is increased by the high-quality rubber-faced pads at both ends of the prop, which swivel a full 180 degrees. This lets you use the prop flexibly on sloping surfaces and at awkward angles too, without losing grip. The rubber surface also protects delicate surfaces from scratches. Ergonomic, soft and non-slip grips guarantee a comfortable and safe hold while you work.

- Trim work: Holding ceiling mouldings and other long materials at the right height during installation.
- Door and window installation: Supporting frames and keeping them straight during wedging and foaming.
- Temporary support: Supporting various loads, such as cabinets or shelves, during installation and holding glued joints under pressure.

Urko installation prop instructions for use:
1. Quick adjustment: Pull the telescopic inner tube outwards until the prop is roughly the length you want (slightly shorter than the final installation gap).
2. Positioning: Place the prop roughly in position between the supported piece and the opposite surface (e.g. floor and ceiling board). Make sure the swivelling pads sit firmly against the surfaces.
3. Fine adjustment and tightening: Hold the soft grip of the prop and start rotating the body of the prop. Rotating drives the threads, so the prop lengthens and tightens. Keep rotating until the prop is firmly in place and carries the load safely. Do not overtighten.
4. Release: When you no longer need the prop, rotate the body in the opposite direction. This releases the tension in the threads and shortens the prop so it can be removed safely. Push the telescopic shaft back in for storage.
Warnings:
For safe use, note the following:
- Never exceed the stated maximum load capacity of the prop (180 kg).
- Before loading, always make sure both ends of the prop sit firmly and evenly against a solid surface.
- Do not use the prop if its parts (body, mechanism, rubber pads) show any damage.
- The prop is intended only for temporary support of static loads, not as a lifting device or a permanent structure.
- Watch out for pinching when tightening and releasing the prop.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
What is the maximum load capacity of the installation prop?
The maximum load capacity of the prop is 180 kg.
Can the prop be used on sloping surfaces?
Yes, the rubber pads at both ends of the prop swivel 180 degrees, which allows safe use on sloping surfaces too.
How does the fine adjustment of the prop work?
Rough adjustment is done by pulling the telescopic shaft. Fine adjustment and final tightening are done by rotating the body of the prop, which lengthens it by means of the threads.
