Description
Yato cordless concrete vibrator 18V (YT-82604) is a cordless internal vibrator for compacting fresh concrete. The unit consists of a drive unit, a flexible shaft and a Ø 25 mm vibrating poker, with a combined length of 1.2 m. The body-only model is supplied without a battery and charger.
The motor of the drive unit rotates the flexible shaft at a rated speed of 3100 min⁻¹, and the poker immersed in the concrete vibrates at a frequency of 12,500 min⁻¹. The vibration makes the mix plastic, so it spreads throughout the formwork and air bubbles and voids are removed. The result is concrete with a more uniform structure.
The power source is an 18 V Li-ion slide-on battery, so the vibrator works on pouring sites without mains power or an extension cable. The poker and shaft are attached to the drive unit with a threaded sleeve, and the joint seal protects the drive shaft. The insulation class of the unit is II and its IP rating is IPX0.
The sound pressure level stated by the manufacturer is 63.0 ± 3.0 dB(A), the sound power level 74.0 ± 3.0 dB(A) and the vibration level 3.2 ± 1.5 m/s². A worn poker can be replaced with spare part YT-82597 (1.2 m / 25 mm), and the shaft and poker are inspected and lubricated at an authorised service centre every 100 operating hours .
Uses and suitability:
The Yato cordless concrete vibrator 18V is designed for compacting concrete poured in layers at least 10 cm thick. The slim 25 mm poker fits between reinforcement bars and into narrow formwork. For preparing the pour, the same battery range offers the Yato cordless mortar mixer 18V, body only, and as a power source, the Yato 18V Li-Ion battery together with the Yato battery charger 18V 2.2A.
- Foundations and footings: The mix is poured in 30–50 cm layers, and the poker is immersed vertically at 20–25 cm intervals starting from the lowest layer.
- Slabs and floor pours: In thin slab pours, the poker is placed at an angle, which increases its contact area with the concrete.
- Wall and column formwork: The 1.2 m shaft reaches inside the formwork; leave at least 7 cm between the poker and the formwork surface.
- Pours without mains power: Battery operation suits yard, foundation and repair pours where there is no electrical connection nearby.
Package contents:
- Drive unit (body only, 18 V)

Yato cordless concrete vibrator 18V user instructions:
Read the original user manual before use. All installation and maintenance work is done with the battery removed.
- Inspection: Unpack the product, pull the threaded sleeve and check the condition of the joint seal. Replace a damaged seal before starting work.
- Fitting the poker: Place the end of the flexible shaft against the drive shaft of the drive unit and screw the threaded sleeve onto the thread of the drive unit. Make sure the poker does not come loose during use.
- Battery: Slide the 18 V Yato battery into the battery slot until the latches lock. The battery is removed by pressing the latch.
- Starting: Hold the drive unit with both hands and press the switch. To lock it, press the lock button with the switch fully pressed and then release the switch.
- Compacting: Immerse the poker vertically for 5–15 seconds until the surface compacts, shines slightly and the sound of the poker changes. Move the poker at about 8 cm/s and pull it out quickly. The next immersion point is 20–25 cm away; the poker is not moved inside the concrete.
- Avoiding idle running: Do not let the poker vibrate outside the concrete for long, as it will overheat.
- Cleaning: Stop the unit, remove the battery and shaft, and rinse the poker and shaft with water immediately after work. Wipe them dry. The drive unit is cleaned with a damp cloth and the ventilation openings with a brush or compressed air at max. 0.3 MPa.
- Storage and transport: Store dry indoors with the shaft detached. For long journeys, transport the shaft and drive unit separately.
Warnings:
- Protective equipment: Wear safety glasses, hearing protection, safety footwear and protective gloves.
- Moisture: The IP rating of the drive unit is IPX0, so do not immerse it in water or direct water at it.
- Pressure washer: The shaft and poker must not be cleaned with a pressure washer.
- Hardened concrete: Concrete must not harden on the surface of the shaft or poker; it damages them.
- Obstacles: The poker must not hit reinforcement, formwork or other obstacles; do not force the poker.
- Carrying: Carry the unit by the drive unit and the poker, not by the loaded shaft.
- Batteries: Use only Yato 18V system batteries; the battery slot or battery must not be modified.
- Accidental starting: Make sure the switch is off before fitting the battery.
- Vibration and noise: Long use exposes you to vibration; take breaks and assess exposure under actual conditions.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
Are a battery and charger included with the Yato cordless concrete vibrator 18V body?
No. The delivery includes the drive unit, the flexible shaft and the 25 mm poker; the battery and charger are purchased separately from the Yato 18V system.
How thick a concrete layer can be compacted with the 25 mm poker?
The manufacturer recommends pour layers of 30–50 cm, max. 50 cm. The minimum concrete thickness is 10 cm.
How long is the poker held in one spot?
5–15 seconds depending on the type and density of the concrete. A finished spot is recognised by a compacted, slightly shiny surface and a change in the sound of the poker.
At what intervals is the poker immersed?
8–10 times the poker diameter, i.e. every 20–25 cm with a 25 mm poker across the whole pour.
Can the poker be replaced?
Yes. The poker, attached with a threaded sleeve, is replaced with spare part YT-82597 (1.2 m, Ø 25 mm).
How is the vibrator maintained?
The poker and shaft are rinsed with water immediately after work and dried. Every 100 operating hours, they are inspected and lubricated at an authorised service centre.
Recycling instructions:
The Yato cordless concrete vibrator 18V is electrical and electronic equipment (crossed-out wheeled bin symbol). At the end of its life, take the device to WEEE collection, not to mixed waste. Return Li-ion batteries separately to a battery collection point with the terminals protected; a damaged battery must not be transported normally. Sort the cardboard packaging into cardboard collection and the plastic parts into plastic collection.
