Description
The Yato cordless mortar mixer YT-82881 is a cordless mixer for mortars, paints, adhesives and other liquid building materials. The operating voltage is 18 V DC and the speed is infinitely variable within 0–650 min⁻¹.
The low speed means that no air is mixed into the material, which extends the working time of the mortar. The paddle fits on an M14 thread and the maximum permitted diameter of the paddle head is 110 mm, so you can fit the paddle that suits the material being mixed.
The speed is set with the dial on the controller before work: the higher the number on the dial, the higher the spindle speed. The adjustment is stepless, and the maximum speed is also indicated by the sound of a ratchet mechanism. The switch has a lock button that prevents accidental starting. The weight without battery is 2.0 kg, and the mixer is held with both hands by both handles during work.
The Yato cordless mortar mixer YT-82881 is a body-only version supplied without battery and charger. The mixer uses Yato 18 V Li-Ion batteries, so the same battery fits other Yato 18 V tools. The set version with battery and charger is the Yato cordless mortar mixer 18V + 2.0 Ah battery and charger set.
Intended use and suitability:
The mixer is designed for mixing mortars, paints, adhesives and other liquid building materials. Battery power lets you work without mains electricity.
- Speed 0–650 min⁻¹: thin materials are mixed at a lower speed and thick ones at a higher speed.
- Low speed: no air is mixed into the material, so the working time of the mortar stays longer.
- M14 thread and paddle up to 110 mm: the paddle is chosen to suit the material being mixed.
- Not suitable for dry materials: the mixer is not intended for mixing loose materials or for handling food.
Package contents:

Yato cordless mortar mixer YT-82881 instructions for use:
Fitting the paddle: Remove the battery before assembly. Screw the detachable shaft of the paddle into the paddle head and tighten the joint with the spanners. Screw the assembled paddle onto the mixer spindle and tighten it with the spanners. The thread size of the paddle and the diameter of the head must match the technical data; adapters are not used.
Setting the speed: Set the spindle speed with the dial. A higher number on the dial means a higher speed. The adjustment is stepless, and the maximum speed setting is indicated by the sound of a ratchet mechanism. Choose the speed according to the material manufacturer’s instructions; thin materials are mixed at a lower speed than thick ones.
Starting: Hold the mixer with both hands by the handles and make sure the paddle is not touching anything. Press the switch lock button fully with your thumb, then press the switch with your index finger. Once the spindle is rotating, you do not need to keep the lock button pressed. Wait until the set speed has been reached.
Mixing: Start the paddle and lower it only into the mixing container. Make sure the container stands firmly in place. Check the fitting of a new paddle by running the mixer without load for 30 seconds in a safe position. If the vibration is abnormal, stop work and check the fitting.
Stopping: The spindle stops when you release the switch. The paddle keeps rotating briefly after stopping. Wait until it has stopped, remove the battery and only then start any maintenance.
Paddle maintenance: Clean the paddle immediately after work so that material residues do not dry onto the paddle or spindle. Remove the paddle from the mixer, clean it with a solvent suitable for the mixed material, wash off the solvent residues with water and dry the paddle thoroughly.
Warnings:
- Hold the mixer with both hands by the handles intended for this purpose. Loss of control can cause personal injury.
- Do not mix food. The mixer and its accessories are not intended for handling food.
- Provide adequate ventilation when mixing flammable materials; the vapours produced can ignite or be inhaled.
- Do not put your hands or objects into the mixing container during mixing.
- Make sure no liquid splashes onto the body of the mixer. Liquid that gets inside the body can damage the machine and cause electric shock.
- Do not use a damaged paddle. Cracks or a bent shaft mean the paddle must be replaced.
- The maximum permitted speed of the paddle must not be lower than the rated speed of the mixer.
- Wear safety glasses and ear defenders as well as any protective equipment the mixed material requires; tie back long hair.
- Follow the instructions and warnings of the material being mixed; the material may be harmful.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
Are the battery and charger included? No. The Yato cordless mortar mixer YT-82881 is a body-only version; the package contains the mixer, a universal mixing paddle and open-end spanners.
What size paddle fits the mixer? The mounting thread is M14 and the maximum diameter of the paddle head is 110 mm.
Why is the speed low? At a low speed no air is mixed into the material, which extends the working time of the mortar.
Can other accessories be fitted to the mixer? No. Only mixing paddles are fitted to the mixer, not for example grinding discs or drill bits.
Does the battery fit other tools? Yes, the battery is part of the Yato 18 V system.
Recycling instructions:
At the end of its service life, take the mixer to a collection point for waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), not to mixed waste. Remove the lithium-ion battery and take it to a battery collection point; tape over the terminals to prevent short circuits. Take solvent residues from the paddle and cleaning to a hazardous waste collection point. Sort the cardboard packaging for cardboard recycling and the plastic parts for plastic recycling.
