Description
Yato cordless impact wrench 700 Nm body (YT-828061) is a brushless 18 V impact wrench with a 1/2″ (12.7 mm) square drive. The maximum torque is 700 Nm, and the tool weighs 1.8 kg. The body-only model is supplied without a battery or charger, and it uses slide-on batteries from the Yato 18 V Li-Ion range.
The wrench has two torque stages, 350 Nm and 700 Nm, indicated by an indicator light on the control panel, and two speed ranges 0–2000 and 0–2600 min⁻¹. The impact rate is 0–5000 impacts/min, and the tangential impact mechanism activates when tightening and loosening.
The potentiometer in the start switch adjusts the speed steplessly, and when rotating anticlockwise a pulsed operating mode is available for loosening nuts. Features include a spindle brake, a reversing switch, a rubber-coated body and a 4-stage charge level indicatoron the control panel.
The package includes a 1/2″–1/4″ bit adapter for hex screwdriver bits. Suitable batteries are Yato 18 V Li-Ion batteries 2.0 Ah (YT-828461), 3.0 Ah (YT-828462), 4.0 Ah (YT-828463) and 6.0 Ah (YT-828464). The declared sound pressure level is 86.0 ± 3.0 dB(A), the vibration value 7.58 ± 1.5 m/s², with insulation class III and its IP rating is IPX0.
Uses and suitability:
The wrench is designed for loosening and tightening nuts and bolts in vehicle and machine maintenance and in installation work. For applications requiring more torque, suitable choices are the Yato cordless impact wrench 18V 850Nm, body only and the 3/4″-drive Yato cordless impact wrench 18V 2400Nm, body only.
- Wheel changing: car and van wheel nuts with 1/2″ impact sockets; the 350 Nm stage limits the tightening torque.
- Workshops: loosening and tightening bolted joints in the chassis, suspension and brackets.
- Installation work: bolted joints in steel structures, scaffolding and brackets without compressed air or mains power.
- Yato 18 V battery system: the body-only model makes use of Yato 18 V Li-Ion batteries and chargers you already have.
Package contents:
- Yato cordless impact wrench 18 V 1/2″ 700 Nm (body only)
- Bit adapter 1/2″ → 1/4″
Battery and charger are not included.
Features:
- Brushless motor: no replaceable carbon brushes; the motor runs on a Yato 18 V Li-Ion battery.
- Two torque stages: 350 Nm or 700 Nm, selected with the control panel button and indicator light when rotating clockwise.
- Pulsed operating mode: when rotating anticlockwise, the drive turns for only a short period with each press of the switch; the mode is designed for loosening nuts and bolts.
- Variable speed control: the potentiometer in the start switch adjusts the speed from 0–2600 min⁻¹.
- Tangential impact mechanism: 0–5000 impacts/min, activates when tightening and loosening.
- Overload clutch: disengages the drive when the maximum torque is reached.
- Spindle brake and reversing: the drive stops after the switch is released; the direction of rotation is changed with the switch above the trigger.
- Rubber-coated body and belt hook: the body withstands knocks, and the metal belt hook keeps the wrench at hand during breaks.
- Charge level indicator: the indicator lights on the bottom row of the control panel show the battery charge level in four stages.

Yato cordless impact wrench 700 Nm body user manual:
Read the entire user manual before first use. Always change the socket or adapter with the battery removed.
- Choosing the socket: choose a 1/2″ impact socket that fits the part to be loosened or tightened and fit it to the square drive (screwdriver bits via the 1/4″ adapter).
- Direction of rotation and stage: select the direction with the reversing switch and insert a fully charged Yato 18 V battery into the base. For clockwise rotation, select 350 Nm or 700 Nm with the control panel button; for anticlockwise rotation, select continuous or pulsed mode.
- Starting: screw the nut or bolt onto the thread by hand at least two turns, place the socket over the nut or bolt head and grip the wrench with both hands.
- Tightening and loosening: press the start switch; the further the switch is pressed, the higher the speed. When the impact mechanism starts hammering and the joint is tight, release the switch. Final tightening of wheel nuts is done with a torque wrench to the vehicle manufacturer’s value.
- Finishing and maintenance: remove the battery and clean the housing and ventilation openings with a dry cloth, a brush or compressed air of max. 0.3 MPa without chemicals. Faults are repaired by an authorised service centre with original spare parts.
Warnings:
- Protective equipment: wear safety glasses, hearing protection and protective gloves.
- Grip: hold the wrench with both hands by its insulated gripping surfaces; the fastener may hit a hidden electrical wire.
- Sockets: use only sockets designed for impact use; ordinary hand tool sockets can crack.
- Wheel nuts: do not tighten wheel nuts to full torque with the impact wrench alone; check the tightening with a torque wrench.
- Overload: take breaks; the outer surface temperature must not exceed 60 °C.
- Accidental starting: remove the battery before changing the socket, making adjustments, maintenance and storage.
- Battery: do not use a damaged battery and do not short-circuit its terminals.
- Children: store the wrench and batteries out of the reach of children.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
How much torque does the Yato cordless impact wrench 700 Nm body have?
The maximum torque is 700 Nm, and the lower stage is 350 Nm.
Are a battery and charger included?
No. YT-828061 is a body-only model; the package contains the wrench and a 1/2″–1/4″ bit adapter. The same wrench is available with a 3.0 Ah battery and charger (YT-82806) and as a socket set (YT-82807).
Which batteries fit the driver?
Yato 18 V Li-Ion batteries, for example 2.0 Ah (YT-828461), 3.0 Ah (YT-828462), 4.0 Ah (YT-828463) and 6.0 Ah (YT-828464).
What is the pulsed operating mode used for?
When rotating anticlockwise, the pulsed mode runs the drive for only a short period at a time, which makes it easier to loosen nuts in a controlled way.
How much does the wrench weigh?
The wrench weighs 1.8 kg without the battery.
Recycling instructions:
