Description
Vorel paint mixer PP 80 x 500 mm is a spiral mixer that fits in a drill for mixing paints and fine adhesives. The mixer head is polypropylene (PP), 80 mm in diameter, and its toothed edge loosens sediment that has settled on the bottom of the container. The shaft is galvanised steel, the overall length is 500 mm and the fitting is a hexagonal shank (HEX) that stays in the drill chuck without slipping.
The plastic mixer head does not scratch the paint container or rust, and it is light: the whole mixer weighs about 300 g, so it can be used with an ordinary drill or a cordless drill. The 500 mm length is enough for 10–20 litre paint containers while keeping the drill above the rim of the container.
The spiral shape draws the liquid up from the bottom and mixes the pigments and binder evenly without heavy splashing. The mixer is intended for thin and medium-stiff compounds; there are separate steel mortar mixers for mortars and fillers.
Intended use and suitability:
Vorel paint mixer PP 80 x 500 mm is intended for mixing paints, varnishes, primers and fine adhesives before use. For smaller containers, use the Schwan paint whisk 60 x 400 mm, 5 mm shank, and for mortars the Yato mortar mixer 60 x 320 mm round spiral 4-9 kg or the Mortar mixer set 3-piece 60 x 350, 60 x 395 and 80 x 400mm.
- Painting and finishing: Mixing emulsion and acrylic paints, varnishes and stains in 3–20 litre tins before rolling or spraying.
- Gluing and levelling: Evening out fine adhesives and ready-mixed primers; the toothed edge loosens sediment from the bottom.
- Renovation and refurbishment: The light plastic head does not break a plastic container or leave metal marks in light-coloured paint.

Vorel paint mixer PP 80 x 500 mm instructions for use:
Fitting: Open the drill chuck and tighten the hexagonal shank in the centre of the chuck. Check that the shaft turns true.
Mixing: Immerse the mixer head in the paint before starting the drill. Start at low speed and move the mixer slowly up and down and along the sides of the container until the colour and consistency are even. Stop the drill before lifting the mixer out of the container.
Cleaning: Wipe or rinse the mixer immediately after use, with water after water-based paint and with paint thinner after solvent-based paint. Dried paint comes off the plastic head when you flex it.
Warnings:
- Wear safety glasses: the rotating mixer can splash paint.
- Start and stop the drill only when the mixer head is in the paint.
- Not intended for mortars, concrete or heavy fillers: the plastic head can be damaged.
- Keep hands, hair and clothing away from the rotating shaft.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
Is the Vorel paint mixer PP 80 x 500 mm suitable for a cordless drill?
Yes. The light polypropylene head and HEX fitting suit an ordinary chuck; paints and thin adhesives do not need high torque.
Can the mixer be used to mix mortar or filler?
The manufacturer states paints and fine adhesives as the application. Use a steel mortar mixer for mortars.
What is a HEX fitting?
The end of the shaft is hexagonal, so the jaws of the drill chuck grip it without slipping even in stiffer compounds.
How is the mixer cleaned?
Rinse off water-based paint with water immediately after use; dried paint comes off the flexible plastic head when you flex it.
Recycling instructions:
At the end of its use, the Vorel paint mixer PP 80 x 500 mm is sorted as follows: the galvanised steel shaft goes to metal collection and the polypropylene head to plastic collection or mixed waste according to local instructions. Paint residue is dried or taken to hazardous waste collection.
