Description
Yato cordless concrete vibrator 18V BL 4Ah (YT-826023) is a ready-to-use kit for compacting fresh concrete. The delivery includes the drive unit, a flexible shaft, a Ø 28 mm vibrating poker, an 18 V 4 Ah Li-Ion battery and a charger. The shaft and poker have a combined length of 1.2 m.
The vibrator’s brushless (BL) motor runs at a rated speed of 13,500 min⁻¹. The drive unit turns the inner shaft of the flexible shaft, which makes the poker immersed in the concrete vibrate. The vibration removes air bubbles from the mix, so the concrete becomes more uniform, denser and more durable.
The included charger charges the 4 Ah battery in about 2 hours. The charger is connected to a 200–240 V mains supply, and its output voltage is 21.5 V DC and output current 2.2 A. The charger has fast charging and a charge level indicator.
The shaft attaches to the drive end with a locking ring, and the switch has a lock for continuous operation. The sound pressure level measured by the manufacturer is 85 ± 3 dB(A), the sound power level 93 ± 3 dB(A) and the vibration level 2.67 ± 1.5 m/s². The insulation class of the charger and the tool is II.
Uses and suitability:
The kit is designed for compacting fresh concrete on sites where mains power is not available or a cable would get in the way of the work. A suitable second battery is the Yato 18V Li-Ion battery. For lighter pours, the Yato cordless concrete vibrator 18V 1.2 m / 25 mm, body only with a thinner 25 mm poker is available.
- Paving slabs and floor pours: The poker is immersed vertically through the reinforcement mesh and lifted all the way out before the next point.
- Foundations and plinths: The mix is spread in layers of even thickness and compacted systematically across the whole layer.
- Column and wall formwork: The 1.2 m shaft reaches into the formwork from above. If the poker hits reinforcement, lift it slightly and immerse it next to it.
- Repair pours: The battery and charger travel with you, so compaction also works when patching an old structure without an extension cable.

User instructions for the Yato cordless concrete vibrator 18V BL 4Ah:
Read the original user manual before use. The battery is supplied uncharged.
- Charging: Place the battery in the charger and plug the charger into a socket. Charge only in an enclosed, dry room under supervision. When charging is complete, unplug the charger and slide the battery out while pressing the latch button.
- Fitting the poker: Remove the battery. Remove the protective cover of the drive end and unscrew the locking ring. Screw the end of the inner shaft all the way onto the drive end shaft with the shaft kept straight, push the shaft into place and tighten the locking ring.
- Checking the joint: The locking ring must be tight. The shaft must not move at the joint.
- Fitting the battery: Slide the charged battery into the battery slot until the latches lock.
- Starting: Hold the poker above the ground and press the power switch. Continuous operation is locked with the switch lock and released by pressing the power switch again.
- Compacting: Immerse the poker quickly and vertically. Do not force the poker. Keep it in the mix only for the time needed and lift it out slowly so that the mix fills the space left by the poker.
- Next point: Lift the poker all the way out before moving it. Concrete is not moved with the poker, and the poker is not dragged horizontally.
- Cleaning: Rinse the poker and the outer surface of the shaft with clean water immediately after work and dry them. The drive unit is not washed with a water jet.
- Battery storage: Store the battery at 0–30 °C at a charge level of about 70%. A battery stored for a long time is charged about once a year.
Warnings:
- Protective equipment: Wear ear defenders, safety glasses, protective gloves and respiratory protection.
- Charging: Do not use a damaged charger or cable. If smoke or a smell comes from the charger, unplug it immediately.
- Battery short circuit: Keep the battery away from metal objects; the terminals must not be short-circuited.
- Heat: The battery must not be exposed to fire; a temperature above 130 °C can cause an explosion.
- Electrolyte: Rinse leaked electrolyte off the skin with water; if it splashes into the eyes, seek medical attention.
- Water: The drive unit must not be sprayed with water or washed with a pressure washer.
- Obstacles: Avoid hitting reinforcement, formwork and the ground with the poker.
- Transport: A damaged battery must not be transported. Shipments by a third party must follow dangerous goods regulations.
- Noise: The sound power level is 93 dB(A), so ear defenders are necessary.
