Description
Yato cordless concrete vibrator 18V BL, body only (YT-826024) is a cordless internal vibrator for compacting fresh concrete. The unit consists of a drive unit, a flexible shaft and a Ø 28 mm vibrating poker, with a combined length of 1.2 m. The body-only model is supplied without a battery and charger.
The drive unit has a brushless (BL) motor with a rated speed of 13,500 min⁻¹. The motor turns the inner shaft of the flexible shaft, which makes the poker immersed in the concrete vibrate. The vibration removes air bubbles from the mix, so the concrete becomes more uniform and denser.
The power source is an 18 V Li-Ion slide-on battery, which slides into the battery slot under the handle. The vibrator works on pouring sites without mains power or an extension cable. Compatible batteries are the Yato 18V system batteries YT-828461–YT-828465 (2–9 Ah).
The flexible shaft is attached to the drive end with a locking ring, so the shaft and poker can be detached for cleaning and storage. The switch has a lock for continuous operation. The sound pressure level stated by the manufacturer is 85 ± 3 dB(A), the sound power level 93 ± 3 dB(A) and the vibration level 2.67 ± 1.5 m/s². The insulation class is II.
Uses and suitability:
The vibrator is designed for compacting fresh concrete poured in layers, in formwork and pour layers. Suitable power sources are the Yato 18V Li-Ion battery and the Yato battery charger 18V 2.2A. The Yato cordless concrete vibrator 18V 1.2 m / 25 mm, body only uses a thinner 25 mm poker.
- Foundations and footings: The mix is spread in layers of even thickness close to its final position. The poker is immersed vertically, point by point, across the whole layer.
- Slabs and floor pours: Compaction is done systematically across the pour area; the poker is lifted all the way out before the next point.
- Wall and column formwork: The 1.2 m shaft reaches inside the formwork. If the poker hits reinforcement, lift it slightly and immerse it at another point.
- Pours without mains power: Battery operation suits yard, foundation and repair pours where there is no electrical connection nearby.

User instructions for the Yato cordless concrete vibrator 18V BL, body only:
Read the original user manual before use. All installation, adjustment and maintenance work is done with the battery removed.
- Fitting the poker: Remove the protective cover of the drive end and unscrew the locking ring. Pull the inner shaft out of the protective tube with the shaft kept straight, screw it all the way onto the drive end shaft, push the shaft into place and tighten the locking ring until you feel resistance.
- Inspection: Make sure the locking ring is tight and the protective tube is seated in the drive end. The flexible shaft must not move at the joint.
- Battery: Slide the Yato 18V battery into the battery slot until the latches lock. The battery is removed by pressing the latch.
- Starting: Hold the poker above the ground and press the power switch. Continuous operation is engaged by pressing the switch lock down with the switch fully pressed; the lock is released when the power switch is pressed again.
- Compacting: Immerse the poker in the concrete quickly and as vertically as possible. Keep the poker in the mix only for the time needed for compaction. Too short compaction leaves air bubbles, while too long compaction separates the concrete components. Lift the poker out slowly.
- Moving on: Lift the poker completely out of the mix before the next point. An immersed poker is not moved horizontally, and the poker is not used to move concrete.
- Idle running: Do not let the poker run for long without load. Immerse it at the next point or switch the unit off.
- Cleaning: Rinse concrete residue off the poker and the outer surface of the shaft with clean water immediately after work and wipe the parts dry. Do not spray water on the drive unit. Clean the ventilation openings with a brush, a dry cloth or compressed air at max. 0.3 MPa.
- Storage: Remove the battery and the flexible shaft before storage. Store in a dry place without sharp bends in the shaft.
Warnings:
- Protective equipment: Wear ear defenders, safety glasses, protective gloves and respiratory protection.
- Pressure washer: The drive unit must not be sprayed with water or cleaned with a pressure washer.
- Hardened concrete: Remove concrete residue from the poker and shaft before it dries.
- Obstacles: The poker must not hit reinforcement, formwork or the ground, and it must not be dragged along the ground.
- Carrying: When carrying, the full weight of the poker and shaft must not rest on the drive end joint.
- Batteries: Use only Yato 18V batteries YT-828461–YT-828465; the battery slot or battery must not be modified.
- Accidental starting: Make sure the switch is off before fitting the battery.
- Supervision: Do not leave the unit unattended while it is running.
- Vibration and noise: The sound power level is 93 dB(A); take breaks and assess exposure under actual conditions of use.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
Does the Yato cordless concrete vibrator 18V BL, body only, include a battery and charger?
