Yato cordless pruning shears 18V 30 mm are electric pruning shears running on the 18 V Li-Ion battery system that cut fresh branches up to 30 mm thick with a single press of the trigger. The cutting force is produced by a brushless motor, and the 5.5 mm thick, rounded SK5 steel upper blade closes against the fixed lower blade. The product is a body only, without a battery or charger.
The blade opening can be adjusted in two steps: 20 mm for thin shoots and 30 mm for thick branches. Instructions for using the Yato cordless pruning shears 18V 30 mm:
Getting started: Charge the Yato 18V battery fully. Make sure the trigger is not pressed, and push the battery into the slot on the body until the latch locks. Press the power button; after the beep, press the trigger twice within a second, and a second beep indicates operating mode. Make a few empty cutting strokes to check that the blades work.
Cutting: place the branch between the blades and press the trigger: the blade closes and opens when the trigger is released. Changing the opening (20 mm / 30 mm): hold the trigger down for about 3 seconds until you hear a beep. Always keep the fingers of your other hand away from the blades. Finishing: hold the trigger down for about 6 seconds so that the blades close, and switch off with the power button.
Blade adjustment and lubrication: remove the battery before any adjustment. Check the blade play: a small amount of play is normal, but there must be no sideways wobble. Adjust by loosening screw (a) half a turn with the hex key and adjusting lock nut (b) with the spanner. Lubricate the blade by dripping 2–3 drops of machine oil into the lubrication hole twice a day in heavy use or after 1–2 batteries, and run a few empty cycles.
Blade replacement and maintenance: remove the two cross-head screws of the top cover, the bolt, washer, nut and locking ring, replace the worn blade with a new one and reassemble in reverse order without overtightening the nut. Clean the blades after use with a cloth or plastic brush, protect them with a thin film of oil and store in a dry place with the blades closed and the battery removed.
