Pruning shears

Cordless pruning shears are 18V battery-powered shears for pruning fruit trees, berry bushes and ornamental shrubs. The motor makes the cut, so even long pruning jobs do not tire the hand the way manual shears do. The group includes pruning shears with 30 and 40 mm cutting capacity and replacement blades for them. Pruning shears are used in home gardens, in landscaping work and in orchards. All machines use the Yato 18V battery.

Selection criteria

• Cutting capacity: the 30 mm model is enough for most shrubs and fruit trees, while the 40 mm model also cuts thicker branches.
• Motor: a brushless (BL) motor gives more cuts per charge and lasts through long working days.
• Weight: a light machine (basic model about 0.9 kg) reduces hand fatigue during long pruning work.
• Replacement blades: replacement blades (upper and lower blade) are available for the 30 and 40 mm brushless models.
• Body only or set: a body-only model is supplied without a battery and charger, while a set includes a 2 Ah battery and a charger.

How thick a branch can cordless pruning shears cut?
Depending on the model, a fresh branch up to 30 or 40 mm thick. A dry branch is harder, so the maximum thickness that can be cut is smaller.

What is a small 2 Ah battery enough for?
Pruning shears use little power, so a 2 Ah battery keeps the machine light. For long pruning days, keep a second battery at hand or use a larger battery.
