Description
The Yato cordless lawn mower YT-85225 is a lawn mower with a brushless motor that runs on two 18 V lithium-ion batteries. The batteries are connected in series, giving a system voltage of 36 V. The cutting width is 430 mm and the rated blade speed is 2900 min⁻¹.
A single lever sets the cutting height within 25–75 mm. Clippings go into a 50-litre grass box with a fill indicator. The mower can also be used without the grass box, in which case the discharge plug and cover must be in place; the mower has a mulching function.
The handle height can be set to three positions and the grip is padded. Quick-release clamps free the handle for folding, and the mower can be stored upright. The switch has a lock that prevents accidental starting, and the battery compartment has a separate key without which the mower will not start.
The battery compartment cover has a 4-level charge indicator and an ECO/AUTO mode selector: ECO saves battery power and AUTO adjusts the motor speed to the load. The Yato cordless lawn mower YT-85225 is supplied as a body-only version without batteries and charger; compatible 18 V batteries are 2 Ah (YT-828461), 3 Ah (YT-828462), 4 Ah (YT-828463), 6 Ah (YT-828464) and 9 Ah (YT-828465). If you need a smaller cutting width, the same battery platform also covers the Yato cordless lawn mower 2 x 18V 34 cm, body only.
Intended use and suitability:
The mower is designed for lawn care. Being electric, it is quieter than a petrol mower: the sound pressure level is 72.8 ± 3.0 dB(A).
- Cutting width 430 mm: reduces the number of passes on larger lawns.

- Grass box or mulching: clippings are either collected in the 50-litre box or returned to the lawn as mulch.
- Protection class IPX1: do not mow wet grass or use the mower in the rain.

Yato cordless lawn mower YT-85225 instructions for use:
Assembly: Fix the lower handle supports near the rear wheels with the levers and choose one of the three angles; make sure the indicator points to the same mark on both sides of the body. Attach the handle to the supports with the levers and washers, and secure the switch cable in its holder so that it is not stretched or twisted.
Grass box and mulching: When using the grass box, remove the discharge plug completely. When working without the grass box, the plug must be fitted and the discharge cover closed. Working without the grass box with the discharge opening covered only by the cover is prohibited.
Starting: Place the mower on a level surface, insert both batteries and close the cover. Insert the safety key into its socket in the battery compartment. Press the lock button in the middle of the switch and pull both switch bars against the handle; release the lock button once the mower has started.
Mowing: Push the mower at walking pace; do not pull it towards yourself. Work in overlapping strips and cut no more than one third of the grass length at a time. On slopes, mow across the slope. Empty the grass box regularly.
Maintenance: Stop the mower, wait for the blade to stop, remove the key, take out the batteries and let the machine cool down before servicing. Clean the body and cooling vents with a soft brush or with compressed air at no more than 0.3 MPa. The blade is replaced every two years or 50 operating hours, and the replacement must be carried out by a service centre authorised by the manufacturer. After cleaning, oil the blade edges with a thin layer of machine oil.
Storage: Store in a dark, dry, frost-free and ventilated place at 10–30 °C. Set the highest cutting height before transport.
Warnings:
- Remove both batteries and the safety key before adjusting the height, cleaning, inspecting or working on the blade.
- The blade keeps rotating briefly after the switch is released; wait until it has stopped completely.
- Wear sturdy footwear and long trousers; do not work barefoot or in open sandals.
- Do not mow wet grass or on steep slopes.
- Do not use the mower without the discharge plug or grass box, or with damaged guards.
- Before starting work, check that there are no electric cables, stones or other objects in the mowing area.
- Use batteries of the same capacity charged to the same level; do not combine a new battery with a worn-out one.

Recycling instructions:
At the end of its service life, take the mower to a collection point for waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), not to mixed waste. Remove the lithium-ion batteries and take them separately to a battery collection point; tape over the terminals to prevent short circuits. Sort the cardboard packaging for cardboard recycling and the plastic parts for plastic recycling.
