Description
Yato cordless hammer drill 18V 2×3 Ah set (YT-82791) includes a hammer drill with a brushless motor, two 3 Ah Li-Ion batteries, a fast charger, an auxiliary handle and a storage case. The maximum torque is 75 Nm, and the drill works in three modes: screwdriving, drilling and hammer drilling. With two batteries, one battery can charge while you work with the other.
The two-speed gearbox gives speeds of 0–500 and 0–2100 min⁻¹, and the impact rate is correspondingly 0–8500 and 0–29,750 min⁻¹. In first gear the torque is 75 Nm and in second gear 40 Nm, which speeds up fastening anchors and long screws of up to 300 mm.
The self-centring 13 mm metal chuck (clamping range 1.5–13 mm) holds the bit firmly even when hammer drilling. The maximum drilling diameter is 25 mm in wood, 13 mm in steel and 13 mm in concrete. The auxiliary handle improves control of the drill because of the high torque.
The drill has electronic speed control, a spindle brake, a reversing switch, a mode selector, an LED work light and a metal belt hook. It weighs 1.4 kg, with insulation class III and its IP rating is IP20. The sound pressure level is 87 dB(A), so hearing protection is necessary. The fast charger charges the 3 Ah battery in about 1.5 hours.
Uses and suitability:
The cordless hammer drill is designed for drilling holes in wood, metal and masonry and for driving and removing screws. Hammer drilling mode is used for concrete and hard brick, not for wood or plastic.
- Fixings in concrete and brick: Holes up to 13 mm with a hammer drill bit for plug and anchor fixings, for example when installing shelves, brackets and rails.
- Timber construction: Holes in wood with bits up to 25 mm and driving long screws in first gear with 75 Nm of torque.
- Metalwork: Holes in steel with bits up to 13 mm; cool the bit with lubricating oil when drilling steel.
- Installation and repair: Installing furniture, doors and brackets, and removing screws in reverse at the lowest speed.
The set batteries fit other Yato 18 V tools, such as the Yato cordless impact wrench 18V 850Nm, body only and Yato cordless drill 18V 45Nm, brushless motor, body only. For screwdriving, a suitable choice is the Yato impact bit set 37-piece. The Yato cordless hammer drill 18V 2×3 Ah set has the same drill as the single-battery Yato cordless impact drill 18V 75Nm + 3 AH battery and charger set.

Yato cordless hammer drill 18V 2×3 Ah user manual:
Charging: The batteries are supplied uncharged. Clean the battery terminals, insert the battery into the charger and plug the charger into a socket. The red LED is lit during charging; the green LED indicates a full battery after about 1.5 hours.
Auxiliary handle and bit: Fix the auxiliary handle clamp to the body of the drill and tighten the handle firmly. Remove the battery, insert a round-shank bit into the chuck and tighten the chuck by hand. Screwdriver bits are fitted with a bit holder or directly in the chuck.
Selecting mode, speed and torque: Select the gear: low speed for screwdriving, high speed for drilling. Set the rearmost ring to the screw, drill bit or hammer symbol. When screwdriving, start with the lowest torque setting and increase it if necessary; the numbered settings are not used for drilling.
Drilling concrete: First drill a smaller hole without impact and then the actual hole with hammer drilling engaged, using a carbide-tipped hammer drill bit. Hold the drill with both hands and press only in line with the bit. Change the direction of rotation only when the drill is at a standstill.
Maintenance: Remove the battery and clean the body and ventilation openings with compressed air (max. 0.3 MPa), a brush or a dry cloth. Store the batteries at 0–30 °C at about 70% charge.
Warnings:
- Read the user manual before use. Wear safety glasses and hearing protection, especially when hammer drilling.
- Always use the auxiliary handle: the 75 Nm torque can twist the drill if the bit jams.
- Remove the battery before changing the bit, making adjustments and maintenance.
- Hold the drill by its insulated gripping surfaces if the bit may hit hidden electrical wiring.
- Start drilling at low speed with the bit tip against the workpiece; long bits can bend when rotating freely.
- The outer surface temperature must not exceed 60 °C. Take breaks because of vibration exposure.
- Charge the batteries only with the supplied charger in a dry place under adult supervision; do not short-circuit the battery terminals.
- Not for use by children. Not for use in rain or damp rooms (IP20).
