Description
Yato cordless drill 18V 42 Nm body (YT-82795) is a drill/driver with a brushless motor, supplied without a battery or charger. The maximum torque is 42 Nm, and the two-speed gearbox gives speeds of 0–600 and 0–2000 min⁻¹. The drill uses Yato 18 V system Li-Ion batteries.
The keyless chuck holds bits and bit holders with a shank diameter of 1.5–13 mm. The maximum drilling diameter is 25 mm in wood and 10 mm in steel. The drill has no hammer function, so it is designed for drilling wood, wood-based boards and metal and for screwdriving.
The ring behind the chuck selects the torque setting for screwdriving or the drilling position, in which the slip clutch is disengaged and the full torque is transmitted to the bit. The trigger adjusts the speed steplessly, and the spindle brake stops the chuck as soon as the trigger is released. The drill is equipped with an LED work light and a metal belt hook.
The gear housing is made of metal and the body of glass-fibre-reinforced polyamide with rubber-coated grip areas. The drill weighs 1.2 kg, with insulation class III and its IP rating is IP20. The sound pressure level is 75 dB(A) and the vibration 3.0 m/s².
Uses and suitability:
The cordless drill/driver is designed for drilling holes in wood, wood-based materials and metal and for driving and removing screws. The low speed range gear is for screwdriving and the high speed range gear for drilling.
- Installation and furniture: Assembling furniture, fixing shelves and rails and fitting hinges; the adjustable torque prevents the screw head from sinking too deep.
- Woodwork: Holes in wood with bits up to 25 mm and screwdriving into pre-drilled holes; when drilling through holes, place a wooden base underneath to prevent splintering.
- Metalwork: Holes in steel with bits up to 10 mm; cool the bit with machine oil when drilling steel and support thin sheet metal on a wooden base.
- Maintenance and repair work: Loosening fixing screws in reverse at the lowest speed, and screwdriving with a bit holder.
The drill needs a Yato 18 V battery and charger, for example the Yato 18V Li-Ion battery and Yato battery charger 18V 2.2A. The same system also includes the Yato cordless impact drill 18V 75Nm + 3 AH battery and charger set, which has a hammer function for drilling masonry. The Yato cordless drill 18V 42 Nm body is the same drill as in the set YT-82794 with a battery, charger and case.

Yato cordless drill 18V 42 Nm body user manual:
Fitting the battery: Push a charged Yato 18 V battery into the bottom of the handle until the latch locks. Remove the battery by pressing the latch. Charge the battery only with a Yato 18 V charger.
Speed and torque: Select the gear with the gear selector: low speed for screwdriving, high speed for drilling. Set the torque with the ring behind the chuck: start with the lowest setting and increase it until the screw tightens correctly. For drilling, turn the ring to the drill symbol; the numbered settings are not used for drilling.
Fitting the bit: Remove the battery. Insert the bit into the chuck and tighten the chuck by hand. Screwdriver bits are fitted in the chuck with a bit holder.
Drilling: Secure the workpiece with clamps and mark the drilling point. Start at low speed with the bit tip against the workpiece and press only in line with the bit. For large holes, drill a pilot hole first. The direction of rotation may only be changed when the drill is at a standstill.
Maintenance: Remove the battery and clean the body and ventilation openings with compressed air (max. 0.3 MPa), a brush or a dry cloth without chemicals.
Warnings:
- Read the user manual before use. Wear safety glasses, hearing protection and protective gloves.
- Remove the battery before changing the bit, making adjustments and maintenance.
- Support the drill properly: the high torque can twist the drill if the bit jams.
- Hold the drill by its insulated gripping surfaces if the bit may hit hidden electrical wiring.
- Do not use a bit at a higher speed than its maximum permitted speed; long bits can bend when rotating freely.
- Do not change the direction of rotation while the drill is running. The outer surface temperature must not exceed 60 °C.
- Use only Yato 18 V system batteries and chargers.
- Not for use by children. Not for use in rain or damp rooms (IP20).
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):

Can the drill drill concrete? No. The drill has no hammer function; concrete and brick require a hammer drill.
How large holes can the drill make? Up to 25 mm in wood and up to 10 mm in steel.
Which batteries fit the drill? Yato 18 V system Li-Ion batteries YT-828461…YT-828465.
How do you get the screw to tighten to the right depth? Start with the lowest torque setting and increase it until the slip clutch disengages at the right point.
Recycling instructions:
Recycle the cardboard packaging and paper user manual as cardboard and paper. The Yato cordless drill 18V 42 Nm body is an electrical appliance: at the end of its life, take it to a collection point for waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), not to mixed waste. Return the Li-Ion battery used with the drill to a battery collection point or to the retailer; tape the contacts before transport.
