Description
Yato cordless drill 55 Nm, body only (YT-827822) is an 18 V drill/driver with a brushless motor and a hammer drilling function. The tool is supplied without a battery and charger, and it fits the Yato 18 V battery system. The maximum torque is 55 Nm, and the tool drills, hammer drills, and drives and removes screws and bolts.
The two-speed gearbox gives speeds of 0–450 and 0–1800 min⁻¹. The lower speed is intended for screwing and the higher one for drilling and hammer drilling. The speed is also adjusted steplessly by pressing the trigger, and the spindle brake stops the chuck when the trigger is released.
The self-centring 13 mm drill chuck is tightened by hand while holding the chuck ring. The torque selector has numbered clutch settings for screwing and drill and hammer symbols for drilling and hammer drilling; in the drilling and impact positions, the clutch does not limit the torque.
The weight of the tool without the battery is 1.0 kg. The body has an LED work light and a metal belt hook, and the delivery includes an auxiliary handle. The sound power level is 93.8 dB(A), so hearing protection is used when hammer drilling.
Uses and suitability:
The drill/driver is designed for drilling holes in wood, wood-based panels and metals and for driving and removing screws and bolts. Hammer drilling makes drilling easier in certain masonry materials; impact is not used for wood, metal or plastic.
- Installation and finishing work: Fixing furniture, mouldings, rails and brackets with adjustable torque.
- Woodwork: Holes in wood and boards and driving wood screws into pilot holes.
- Metalwork: Holes in thin sheet and profiles with a metal drill bit.
- Plug fixings: Holes in brick and masonry by hammer drilling with a masonry bit; first a short pilot hole without impact.
The tool runs on Yato 18 V batteries, such as the Yato 18V Li-Ion battery, which are charged, for example, with the Yato battery charger 18V 2.2A. A higher-torque alternative from the same system is the Yato cordless impact drill 18V 120Nm, brushless motor, body only.

User instructions for the Yato cordless drill 55 Nm, body only:
Battery: Slide a Yato 18 V battery into the battery slot until the latches lock. Always remove the battery before changing accessories and making adjustments.
Fitting the bit: Hold the chuck ring and turn the drill chuck to open the jaws. Push the bit in all the way and close the jaws. Screwdriver bits are fitted with a bit holder. Check that the bit is held firmly without play.
Screwdriving: Select the lower speed and the screw symbol, and set the clutch number according to the size of the fastener and the material. Start with the lowest setting and test on scrap material. When the clutch slips, stop tightening. Drill a pilot hole for wood screws.
Drilling and hammer drilling: Check that there are no electrical cables at the drilling point. Set the selector to the drill symbol and select the higher speed. Hold the tool perpendicular to the surface and press in line with the bit. In masonry, first drill a short pilot hole without impact and then switch to the hammer symbol.
Maintenance and storage: Remove the battery and clean the housing, ventilation openings and switches with compressed air (max. 0.3 MPa), a brush or a dry cloth; the housing can be wiped with a cloth moistened with soapy water. Store in a dry, ventilated place below 40 °C.
Warnings:
- Read the user manual before use. Wear safety glasses, hearing protection and protective gloves, especially when hammer drilling.
- Remove the battery before changing accessories, making adjustments and maintenance. Do not change settings while the tool is running.
- Hold the tool firmly and use the auxiliary handle: if the bit jams, the reaction torque can twist the tool.
- Hold the drill by its insulated gripping surfaces if the bit may hit hidden electrical wiring.
- Do not drill with the screw symbol selected: if the clutch slips during drilling, it can damage the bit and reduce control.
- Start drilling at low speed; do not exceed the maximum permitted speed of the bit. The temperature of the outer surfaces must not exceed 60 °C.
- Use only Yato 18 V batteries YT-828461…YT-828465. Not for use by children. Do not expose the tool to rain or moisture.

Recycling instructions:
Recycle the cardboard packaging and paper user manual in cardboard and paper collection. The Yato cordless drill 55 Nm, body only, is an electrical appliance: take the tool to a WEEE collection point at the end of its life, not to mixed waste. Return Li-Ion batteries used with the tool to battery collection or to the retailer; tape the contacts before transport.
