Yato cordless fan 18V / 240V (YT-82933) is a 230 mm hybrid fan that runs either on a Yato System 18V series Li-Ion battery or on mains power via the supplied power adapter. The fan circulates air indoors, improves ventilation and speeds up the drying of surfaces on construction and renovation sites. The product is supplied as a body only: the battery and charger are not included, but the power adapter is.
The fan has two speeds: speed I 1700 min⁻¹ and speed II 2600 min⁻¹. The speed is selected with a button, and an indicator light shows the selected speed. The fan head tilts 0–360° and is locked with two locking knobs, so the airflow can be directed anywhere from the floor to the ceiling.
In mains operation, the fan is powered by a separate power adapter with an input voltage of 100–240 V AC, 50/60 Hz and an output of 12 V DC / 2 A. The protection class of the fan is III and that of the power adapter II; the IP rating is IPX0, so the device is intended for dry indoor spaces only. Without the battery, the body weighs 2.4 kg.
The hanging hook on the base and the carrying handle make the device portable: the fan can be hung from a scaffold or a rail, or used on the floor. According to the manufacturer, a 3.0 Ah battery gives about 4 hours of continuous operating time. Uses and suitability:
The Yato cordless fan 18V is designed to move air and improve ventilation indoors where mains power is not always available.
- Construction and renovation sites: The airflow speeds up the drying of fillers, plaster and paint surfaces and carries dusty air away from the workstation. Battery operation suits sites that do not yet have electricity; the power adapter suits sites where a socket is available.
- Workshops, halls and garages: The 230 mm blade circulates air at the workstation and directs dust from sanding or mixing, for example, away from the user’s breathing zone. The device does not replace local exhaust ventilation or a respirator.
- Machine cabs, tents and motorhomes: 18 V battery operation and a weight of 2.4 kg make the device easy to take along. Hung from the hook, the fan takes up no floor space.
- Offices and warehouses: With the power adapter, the fan runs continuously without breaks for battery charging.
The device is intended for indoor use in dry spaces only (IPX0). It must not be used near flammable or explosive vapours or in very dusty spaces where dust is drawn into the motor.

Yato cordless fan 18V user manual:
Battery operation: First disconnect the power adapter plug from the device. Slide a charged 18 V battery into the guides of the battery connector so that the latch locks the battery in place, and check that the battery does not come loose by itself.
Mains operation: Remove the battery. Open the rubber plug of the power adapter socket on the body (do not tear it off), connect the power adapter cable to the socket and plug the power adapter into a mains socket. The mains circuit must have a protective earth conductor and a 16 A protective device; an extension cable must be three-core and rated for a 16 A load.
Starting and speed: Start the fan with the power switch. The blade reaches full speed after a moment. Change the speed with the speed selector button; the indicator light is lit next to the symbol of the selected speed. Pressing the power switch again stops the device.
Tilting: Remove the battery and power adapter before adjusting. Loosen both locking knobs, turn the head to the desired position and tighten the knobs.
Positioning and hanging: Place the fan on a level surface and leave at least 15 cm of free space around the rear guard for air intake. Hang the device only from the hook on the base; the hanging point must withstand the weight of the fan and battery, and the mains cable must not be left taut or create a tripping hazard.
Maintenance: Remove the battery before maintenance. Clean the body, ventilation openings, switches and guards with compressed air (max. 0.3 MPa), a brush or a dry cloth without chemicals. Check the condition of the body, switch and ventilation openings after use. Do not dismantle the device during the warranty period; faults are repaired by an authorised service centre. Warnings:
- Indoor use only: IP rating IPX0. Do not clean with a water jet, do not immerse in liquid and do not allow liquid to enter the fan.
- Explosion hazard: Do not use near flammable or explosive vapours (drying paint, fuel, solvents). Sparks generated inside the device can ignite the vapours.
- Dust: Do not use in very dusty spaces. Dust drawn into the motor wears the device and can cause a short circuit.
- Covering: Do not cover the device while it is running; risk of overheating and fire.
- Supervision: Do not leave the device unattended while it is connected to a power source.
- One power source only: In battery operation, the power adapter plug must be disconnected, and in mains operation, the battery must be removed. The power adapter does not charge the battery.
- Compatible batteries only: Using Yato 18 V batteries other than those listed, and modifying the connector or battery, is prohibited.
- Hanging: Hang only from the hook on the base to a load-bearing fixing point.
- Adjustments with the power off: Adjust the tilt angle and carry out maintenance with the battery and power adapter disconnected.
- Children: Not for use by children under 8 years without supervision; children must not play with the device.
- Cable: A damaged mains cable or plug must not be used or repaired; have it replaced by a service centre.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ):
Can the Yato cordless fan 18V run on battery and mains power at the same time?
No. Only one power source is used at a time: in battery operation the power adapter is disconnected, and in mains operation the battery is removed. The power adapter does not charge the battery either.
Which batteries fit the fan?
Yato System 18V series Li-Ion batteries YT-82842, YT-82843, YT-82844, YT-82845 and YT-828461–YT-828465 (2–9 Ah). The battery and charger are purchased separately.
How long does the fan run on one battery?
According to the manufacturer, about 4 hours continuously with a 3.0 Ah battery. A larger battery extends the operating time, and speed II shortens it.
Is the fan suitable for drying filler or paint?
The airflow speeds up the drying of surfaces, but the device must not be used near flammable solvent vapours. It is suitable for drying water-based fillers and paints.
Can the fan be hung?
Yes. The base has a hook for hanging the device, for example from a scaffold tube. The hanging point must withstand the combined weight of the fan and battery.
Is the device dustproof or suitable for outdoor use?
No. The IP rating is IPX0, and the device is intended for dry indoor spaces. In very dusty spaces, dust drawn into the motor can damage the device.
Recycling instructions:
Sort the cardboard packaging for cardboard recycling and plastic bags for plastic recycling. The Yato cordless fan 18V is an electrical appliance (EEE): at the end of their life, the device and power adapter must not be disposed of with mixed waste but taken to a collection point for waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) or to the retailer. Return the Li-Ion battery separately to a battery collection point with its terminals taped; a damaged battery must not be transported or stored without protection.
