Description
Yato plastic welder 3.7V (YT-824480) is a cordless hot stapler for repairing cracks and fractures in plastic parts. The unit has a built-in 3.7 V 2000 mAh Li-ion battery, which is charged via the USB-Cport. The set is supplied in a case and includes 200 staples in four shapes, side cutters, a snap-off blade knife and a charging cable.
The welder heats the metal staple fitted in the heating holder in about 5 seconds, and the temperature is selected from three levels: 400 °C (L), 500 °C (M) and 600 °C (H). The hot staple is melted into the plastic across the crack, binding the edges together and reinforcing the repair. After cooling, the excess part of the staple is cut off, and the surface can be sanded and filled.
The power of the unit is 40 W. According to the manufacturer, one charge heats at least 60 staples at the highest temperature level. Charging takes about 70 minutes from a 5 V / 2 A USB power source, and the indicator lights on the control panel show the charge level and the selected temperature level.
The lightweight body weighs about 0.2 kg, and it has a separate power switch and heating switch, work area lighting and overload protection. The control panel uses indicator lights to signal low battery, an incorrectly fitted staple, a battery temperature above 60 °Cand exceeding the heating time. The insulation class is III.
Uses and suitability:
The Yato plastic welder 3.7V is designed for repairing cracks in thermoplastic parts with shaped staples where mains power is not available. To finish the repair, you can use, for example, the Yato cordless random orbital sander 18V 125 mm, body only, and for thermoforming plastic, the Yato digital soldering and hot air station 100–480C.
- Plastic vehicle parts: Cracks in bumpers, wings, brackets and trim panels are stapled from the inside, after which the outer surface can be sanded, filled and painted.
- Temperature selection by material: Thin and soft plastics are repaired at a low level, thick and hard parts at a higher level.
- Corners and curved cracks: Corner staples (a, b) suit outside and inside corners, shape c small straight cracks and shape d large or curved cracks.
- Plastic housings, boxes and furniture parts: The cordless, lightweight unit also suits tight and hard-to-reach spots.
