Description
Yato site radio 18V (YT-82940) is a portable radio receiver that runs on a Li-Ion battery of the Yato 18 V battery platform or on the supplied 230 V power supply. The receiver covers the FM band 87.5–108 MHz and AM band 522–1710 kHz, and you can also play audio via Bluetooth 4.2 or through the 3.5 mm AUX input. The product is a body-only version: the battery is not included.
The radio has a 3 W speaker, a backlit LCD display, a clock (2 x AAA batteries) and station memory for 10 FM and 10 AM stations. Stations are found automatically with the AUTO MEMORY function or manually; the telescopic aerial improves reception. Soft mechanical buttons protect the control panel from dust.
The USB output (5 V / 1 A) on the front panel can charge a phone or other small device from the 18 V battery. The power supply (12 V DC, 1 A, protection class II) connects to the DC socket, so the radio works without a battery. The body has a carrying handle, and the compact unit weighs 0.68 kg without the battery.
According to the manufacturer, the operating time on one battery is 36 h (over 20 h with a 2 Ah battery). The Yato site radio 18V uses batteries YT-82842–YT-82845, which also fit other tools in the Yato 18 V range, for example the Yato cordless impact drill 18V 75Nm, brushless motor, body only. For a larger power supply on site, use the Yato portable power station 504Wh 600W.
Uses and suitability:
The Yato site radio 18V is intended for listening to radio stations and playing audio from an external device in places where mains power is not always available.
- Construction sites: battery operation on an 18 V battery and the carrying handle make the radio easy to move from one workstation to another; the dust-protected buttons withstand site conditions. For site lighting, a good choice that runs on the same battery is the Yato cordless work light 18V / 230V 1600LM 20W, body only.
- Workshops: with the power supply, the radio runs continuously without a battery; the Bluetooth connection plays music from a phone.
- Warehouses and technical rooms: the compact size and 0.68 kg weight suit a shelf or workbench; the AUX input connects, for example, a computer or player with a cable.
- Camping and cottage: the USB output charges a phone from the 18 V battery; FM and AM reception works without a network connection.
