Description
Yato cordless plastic pipe cutter 18V (YT-22305) is a cordless cutter for cutting PVC, PP, PU and PE plastic pipes. The maximum cutting diameter is 50 mm. One cutting cycle takes about 2.5 seconds, so pipes cut in series go quickly.
The cutter is part of the Yato 18V battery system. The product is a body-only model: the battery and charger are not included. Suitable power sources are Yato 18V Li-Ion batteries of 2–9 Ah. The batteries are charged with Yato 18V chargers.
The pipe is placed in the lower jaw, which supports it during the cut. The motor closes the moving blade when the trigger is squeezed. The blade is made of SK5 carbon steel, its hardness is 53–57 HRC, and the PTFE coating reduces friction as the blade passes through the material.
The housing is made of glass-fibre-reinforced polyamide and TPE elastomer (PA6 + GF30 + TPE). The LCD display shows the number of cuts made since start-up. The control system has overheating and short-circuit protection. Faults are signalled with beeps. The tool goes into sleep mode after a pause of about one minute and switches itself off after about 5 minutes.
For storage, the blade is closed by holding the trigger down for more than 5 seconds. The blade is a replaceable part, removed with a hex key and a socket wrench. The tool complies with standards EN 62841-1 and EN 62841-2-8.
Uses and suitability:
The cutter is intended only for plastic pipes with an outer diameter of up to 50 mm. It is not used to cut metal, wood, stone, electric cables or steel wire. A suitable power source is, for example, the Yato 18V Li-Ion battery, which can be charged with the Yato battery charger 18V 2.4A for two batteries. For smaller copper and plastic pipes, there is the manual Procat pipe cutter 3-22 mm.
- Water and drainage installations: Cutting PVC and PP pipes to length during installation. The blade cuts the pipe by pressing, so the cut produces no sawdust.
- PE pipes: Cutting water supply and irrigation pipes up to a diameter of 50 mm. Battery operation makes the work easier on sites without mains power.
- PU tubes: Square cutting of compressed air and pneumatic tubes for fittings.
- Empty plastic conduits: Cutting PVC and PE conduits before pulling cable. Live wires or cables are not cut with the cutter.
- Maintenance and repair work: Removing a damaged section of pipe in tight spaces where using a saw is awkward.
Package contents:
- Cordless plastic pipe cutter 18V (body)

- Socket wrench for blade replacement
- User manual
The body-only model does not include a battery or charger.
Features:
- Cutting capacity 50 mm: PVC, PP, PU and PE pipes are cut with a single squeeze.

User instructions for the Yato cordless plastic pipe cutter 18V:
- Check the pipe: The material must be PVC, PP, PU or PE and the diameter no more than 50 mm.
- Prepare the work area: The work area must be clean and well lit. The pipe must be firmly supported.
- Fit the battery: Slide the battery into the battery connector until the latches lock. Before fitting, make sure the trigger is not pressed.
- Switch on: Press the power activation button. The display lights up, after which the tool gives two beeps.
- Activate the cutter: Press the trigger twice. Test the blade opening and closing a few times without load.
- Cut: Place the pipe in the lower jaw as square to the blade as possible. Hold the tool by the handle and squeeze the trigger. Release the trigger once the pipe is cut, and the blade returns to the open position.
- If the blade stops: Release the trigger immediately, switch off the tool and remove the battery. Remove jammed material only after removing the battery.
- Finish work: Close the blade by holding the trigger down for more than 5 seconds until you hear two beeps. Switch off the tool by holding the power button down for a few seconds and remove the battery.
- Maintain: Clean the blade and lower jaw with a dry cloth or a soft brush. Apply a thin layer of lubricating oil to the mating surfaces and wipe off the excess. Solvents or abrasive agents are not used.
- Replace the blade when needed: With the battery removed, open the blade fully. Turn the knob cover open and loosen the fixing screw with the hex key and the nut with the socket wrench. Fit the new blade in reverse order and test the operation without load.
- Store: In a dry, enclosed place with the battery removed and the blade closed, out of the reach of children.
Fault alerts: 10 beeps mean a control system fault, 7 a motor fault, 6 short-circuit protection tripped and 4 overheating protection tripped. An overheated tool is allowed to cool before restarting. A recurring fault is repaired at an authorised service centre.
Warnings:
- Crushing and cutting hazard: Keep hands away from the moving blade, the lower jaw and the cutting area. Do not touch the blade while the battery is fitted.
- Plastic pipes only: Do not cut metal, stone, wood, steel wire or electric cables.
- Risk of electric shock: Live wires or parts must not be cut.
- Capacity: Do not cut a pipe over 50 mm or a pipe that is too hard, as the blade may jam.
- Battery off during maintenance: Remove the battery before adjustment, cleaning, blade replacement, transport and storage.
- Remove service keys: Remove the hex key and socket wrench before fitting the battery.
- Conditions: Do not use the tool in rain, in wet areas or in an explosive atmosphere (IP20).
- Protective equipment: Always wear safety glasses; when needed, protective gloves and non-slip footwear.
- Damaged tool: A cracked, chipped or incorrectly fitted blade must be replaced before use. A tool with cracks, play or unusual noise is taken for servicing.
- Children: Store the tool with its battery out of the reach of children and untrained persons.
