Angle grinders

Angle grinders are cordless machines for cutting metal, grinding, brushing and cutting stone or tiles. The disc is chosen to suit the job. Angle grinders are used in metalwork and construction, workshops, installation work and households. All machines use the Yato 18V battery and a 125 mm disc.

Selection criteria

• Motor: a brushless (BL) motor gives more power and run time per charge.
• Speed: variable speed or three speed settings make brushing, polishing and grinding heat-sensitive materials easier.
• Battery size: cutting and heavy grinding use a lot of power, so a 4 Ah or larger battery is recommended.
• Body only or set: a body-only model is supplied without a battery and charger, while a set includes one or two batteries and a charger.

Which disc does an angle grinder cut with?
Use a cutting disc for metal, a diamond disc for stone and concrete, and a grinding or flap disc for grinding. The maximum permitted speed of the disc must be at least the speed of the machine.

What is variable speed needed for?
Low speed is used for brushing, polishing and grinding stainless steel and other heat-sensitive materials.
