Batteries and chargers

Yato 18V batteries and chargers are the Li-Ion batteries and chargers of the Yato 18V battery system. The same battery fits all Yato 18V tools and garden machines, and 2x18V machines use two batteries at the same time. The group includes 18V batteries in 2, 3, 4, 6 and 9 Ah sizes, a standard charger, fast chargers, dual chargers, a car charger, a solar and car charger and a battery and charger set. Batteries and chargers are needed to run body-only models, as backup power and as a second battery for long working days.

Selection criteria

• Battery capacity: a 2–3 Ah battery keeps light machines light, 4 Ah suits general use and a 6–9 Ah battery suits saws, angle grinders, lawn mowers and leaf blowers.
• Charging current: the charging current is 2.2 A for the standard charger, 4.5 A for the smart fast chargers and up to 12 A for the super-fast charger. A higher charging current charges a large battery faster.
• Dual charger: charges two batteries, which is practical with 2x18V machines.
• Charging without mains power: the car charger plugs into a vehicle's 12 V socket, and with the solar and car charger the battery can also be charged from a solar panel, for example at a summer cottage.
• Battery and charger set: the set contains two 4 Ah batteries and a fast charger, so it gets body-only models up and running.

Frequently asked questions about Yato 18V batteries and chargers

Does the same battery fit all Yato 18V machines?
Yes. All Yato 18V tools and garden machines use the same 18V Li-Ion battery. A 2x18V machine needs two batteries.

How long does it take to charge the battery?
You get an approximate charging time by dividing the battery capacity by the charging current. For example, a 4 Ah battery charges in about two hours on a 2.2 A charger and in about an hour on a 4.5 A fast charger.

Which charger should I choose?
The standard charger is enough for small batteries and occasional use. For large 6–9 Ah batteries and daily use, it is worth choosing a fast charger or a dual charger.
